"The Cage" was the pinnacle of Star Trek, real top-of-the-barrel stuff. Throughout the years we've had stuff which almost matched that quality.. "Devil in the Dark", "City on the Edge of Forever", "Wrath of Khan", "Star Trek First Contact", "Deep Space 9"

But mostly as time goes by Star Trek is getting worse. Lately their stuff has a bottom-of-the-barrel taste to it. I will keep watching it because there have been moments in the past where I've been delightfully surprised by an idea in the show, and although this didn't happen with the first series of "Discovery", I'll keep hoping something will

We screw all you naysayers (in a nice and friendly and not at all offensive sense :) )

I thought star trek disco was great and am looking forward to the next season. I am interested in the new "Piccard" series... but i am genuinely worried that he is too old and i do not want to see the deterioration of a childhood tv hero deteriorate as we watch. I fear this may be 10 years too late.

as for spok.... it is probably answered in the video however in case not, the filk startrek and the tv series are pretty much independent from each other... i am not sure which is considered canon (i am guessing the tv series) because the film has a whole different timeline after it got reset in the 1st movie. Whilst it would be cool if characters from the film played their role in the tv series, it is not something i would ever expect......

And remember, between Kurtzman and Orci, Orci was the one who even knew a little about Trek.

They killed it.

I didn't mind Star Trek Discovery either. Not too sure what the hate is about to be honest. I also do not know why people are saying it's not trek. Looks like it to me.
