General / Off-Topic The Odd Thread

I think this should be renamed The Very Strange Thread. Odd isn't quite strange enough, yet strange is odder then odd.

Maybe both.

Do you suffer from the heat death of the universe while driving?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Isn't that for Intel ones only though? For AMDs the temp looks like the CPU is just beginning to get to operating speeds... :p

Ouch! We got an Intel fan here!

I guess AMD *needs* a fan, amirite?

Hah, interesting how perception and bias works. My Ryzen is overclocked by almost a GHz and a simple single-fan Noctua air cooler can comfortably keep it below 60°C while any friend with an 8th or 9th gen Intel has to make a custom water loop to keep their chip from thermal throttling.

Now GPUs are a different matter. My Vega 56 IS one of the hottest GPUs I've ever had, that is very true. Nothing will ever beat the old GTX 480, but it's close. :D

You noticed the :p there, didn't you? ;)

It goes around on waves, IIRC P4s were notoriously hot runners, then from Core2Duo to 6th/7th gen iXs weren't so heat intensive while FX lineup was, now Ryzens run cool and newest iXs run hot. :)

Sorry. Like many times before, this is a proof that sarcasm doesn't really carry over well over the internet. :x
The biggest problem of the new "soldered" Intels is the warped IHS, tbh. They would run much cooler (And they do when you lap the heat spreader) than 8th gen.
