It's a good tactics to anger your opponent. Unless he know how to turn this kind of rage into lethal will. Draws his attention, makes him unfocused or he just became a charging bull.

About attention, in battles?
Don't let your toughs your rage, fears or crave for victory to cloud your awareness, and focus to the battle. In time your distracting toughs are evaporating. The longer you do it? The more calm your mind became and faster your reflexes will be.

This is one of the main reasons of warm up in sport. prepare your body, and empty your mind.

Edit; The thing about Samurais and Knights? they have a huge ego. Easy to use against them. Unless they are aware of this weakness.
