I nearly made a cheese and mincemeat sandwich the other day, only avoided by my son asking if the jar I was opening was the pickle.

Part of me wonders if it would actually be worth trying.

Is that mincemeat as in the fruit-based thing that goes in mince pies, or the stuff you buy from the butcher? Either would probably work (or even both together if you were feeling adventurous), but I'd recommend cooking the animal-grindings first. :)
