So, what's obvious is that the Oracle Ocellus starport obviously isn't going to make it to the Thargoid base!

I expect (and hope) that FDev are rebooting the "finding Jaques" mystery that was solved without following the clues they put in local news. This time we can solve it properly, by using our brains and not by brute forcing the galaxy map.

The only question is: Where is the Oracle starport at the moment?

Er, actually, I think it's already there! At least, it's in eddb.io, I can't check in game atm.

As of yesterday, it's at Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-55, about 3,100 light-seconds out from arrival, around moon A of planet 5. Docked there for a bit. ^.^

What's wrong with brute forcing the map? Tat is generally how actual search and rescue efforts go. You determine the general search area, and then deploy search teams to perform a dragnet operation and (hopefully) locate the missing party/ies by force of man hours.

There was no indication of where Jaques was, so the whole galaxy needed to be searched

I mean, we knew where he was heading, it's not like his plan was to throw a stick in the air and jump in whatever direction it pointed upon landing. He had a stated destination, and could be presumed to have jumped in that general direction.

Well, he didn't even end up on the direct line to BP. Not even within 10% of it. In that "general direction" (between 315 degrees and 45 degrees north of Sol) there are probably more than 3/4 of the systems in the game, that's 300 billion star systems. If we're being generous, Jaques was found by luck, not by skill.
