The Pirate code

Is there In ED a 'Pirate Code' written down somewhere?

A pirate code, pirate articles or articles of agreement were a code of conduct for governing pirates. A group of sailors, on turning pirate, would draw up their own code or articles, which provided rules for discipline, division of stolen goods, and compensation for injured pirates.

Better off looking to Hollywood:
Pirates of the Caribbean
"... secondly, you must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules."

The ship may have had a code.. Democracy, Insurance and fair payment but i don't know if there was any sort of code among pirates (maybe an agreement to not farm the same seas?)... but to be fair, haven't really looked.

you could make one OP! Maybe there are others interested in that kind of thing... it is a large universe after all!

Certain pirate player groups do impose rulesets, and the pirate group named "The Code" does indeed have a few, I expect similar groups do too.

See this vid (skip to 50s) for the recruitment code of conduct, there is also a code of conduct for how to treat traders, one for how to treat bounty hunters etc and by and large the groups are decent about sticking to "the rules".

But I'll let someone else who didn't wash out of Code like I did explain any further detail. Turns out I'm a better Zarekhobo than pirate.

A post about 'pirates' generates 'positive' responses. A post about Eula breaking activities get all the negs hmm..

Again it’s been done already, and very early on since the start of the game! We ARE The Code!!! The first and oldest PvP piracy group in the game, and the third PMF to ever be added to the game.

and we have a saying; “You’re Code, or You’re DEAD!!”

These days we have expanded to many other games, but we STARTED in Elite Dangerous.
