In 3251, “The Thargoids - Truth or Fiction” was published.
This is 100 years after the Mycoid Virus was unleashed on the Thargoids. It can be seen by the two conflicting reports that the Thargoid threat was being forgotten by the general public, and shrouded in folklore by those who heard stories about them. The reality was quite the opposite. In 3251, it is rumoured that Carl Linnaeus and other members of the Alliance met with an Oresian delegation, where quite possibly, Soontil was mentioned as the lost Thargoid homeworld. It is at this point that we get our first knowledge of the Klaxian/Oresian civil war and what it will mean to humanity, hence the creation of Pivot.
Linnaeus begins Pivot soon after this meeting - a scheme to genetically modify humans to assist the Orsesians in defeating the Klaxians. This is the first recorded instance of Human and Oresian alliance. . It can be assumed that the Oresian plan was to use human populated space as a shield against the Klaxians, but Linnaeus’ plan worked well enough to repel the Klaxians. In 3303, a report from Salome confirms this plan.
3259 - Linnaeus acts as consultant for Argent Aerodynamics Amalgamated Inc. for exo-biological research.
3270 - Zurara departs for the Formidine Rift, and arrives six months later. The Dynasty missions also explore Hawkin’s Gap and the Conflux. All personnel are lost.

In the course of 30 years, the Alliance had helped the Oresians by developing super-pilots, and the Club were developing an escape plan. It is safe to assume that the Club were aware of Linnaeus’ plan, and in this new age of Thargoid incursions, have re-instigated the Pivot project as one of several anti-Klaxian weapons. Guardian Technology is the new super-weapon, but both AX weaponry and Oresian-augmented pilots have been used before - one millenia ago, and the other much more recently. It would be fair to surmise that the Klaxian war machine will be able to defeat both quite quickly. This also disregards the serious health dangers of these super-pilots, which resulted in the original Pivot subjects living substantially shorter lives.
The Oresian retreat and the looming Klaxian incursions have been known for over 50 years, yet the Club is maintaining its known tactics: Super pilots, Guardian weaponry and a back-up escape plan.
It is apparent that Janus Corporation AND the Oresians are collecting test subjects for this new incarnation of Pivot, while Aegis are openly recruiting Imperial volunteers for the same.
With that in mind, we have severely hurt Aegis in the Pleiades AND openly attacked Janus' medical research facility. Change is coming.

This is concurrent with the leaked reports by Salome that there are two sects of Thargoids - one more amenable than the other. Even crazy sects like this are starting to get the idea… These Thargoids are not the enemy, but we are being led to believe that they are. We are wasting vital resources in fighting them, when it is clear that there is dialogue between our two species. We must stop The Club from pursuing this course of action and instead work directly WITH the Oresians to prepare us for the onslaught which IS coming.
