The Positive Pirate Discord Channel - now open!

What? I hear you cry! There is already a piracy discord!

Well, yes, indeed, its there, and until a few weeks ago i was a member. Anyone who is interested can still join via their invite link (https://discord.gg/4E3C3Zh)

It was set up by Hagglebeard (who stepped down as admin of the channel some months back), a fairly well known PvE pirate back in August 2016, and for a while it was a good place to hang out and discuss piracy. However, due to increasing disillusionment with PvP piracy, the vocal PvP pirates on the channel tended to make their feelings known a lot, and the tone on the channel became more and more negative, and, from my perspective, ended up in pure toxicity.

I found no value in remaining a member of that discord channel and quit. If i want to listen to people complain non-stop, i can read the forums! :D

But, i missed the piracy channel, and the positive aspects of it.

Therefore, i thought, i'll make my own piracy discord, with blackjack and erm.... no, wait, with only positive people. People who actually enjoy piracy in ED, even in face of issues with it. PvE piracy works quite well anyway, and not all PvP pirates surely are not so negative. I know a few that are hanging in there, doing their best to promote PvP piracy as a legitimate and fun career, and do their best to live with the combat logging that happens.

So, here it is, the positive pirate discord!

I still need to do some tweaking, but feel free to dive in. I'll be crashing in a few mins, but tomorrow i'll be around to assign roles to people (Mainly a title which says whether you are a PvP/PvE/Both pirate). Take a look at the rules i've set up and make sure you are ok with them. I reserve the right to kick anyone who is toxic or overly negative. Sure, have a complain about combat loggers if encounter one, i've even set up a channel for people to do that, but if you're going to do that persistently, then you will be booted, there are plenty of other places where you can complain about stuff like that.

Remember! You ARE a Pirate!

Arrrr! Matey!

I just don't need to take from players. I can take from NPCs, it's the same profit.

If there were missions to raid (e.g. faction oppos whose mission was to do a cargo run with some protection), that would be different, because the player I'm stealing from is running a mission to get past me, and this isn't about stealing from a player, but winning my mission goals. There's no malice in it at all, just playing the missions.

If there was a mission to just yank 10 tons of stuff from random players, though, I'd not accept that mission and berate it mightily.

The madness doesn't stop, does it?

Is there blackjack and hookers?

Also for the record Hagglebeard has not stepped down from Elite: Pirates, he's just having an extended break from the game. He's still the owner and top admin.

Not a rival, just an alternative. For those who like their piracy chat without added salt :D

Thanks for the info on Hagglebeard. I saw his name disappear on the channel and since he had said he was stopping playing, had assumed he had stepped down.

PS: Any chance of a transfer? I've got Error somehow! You want him back? :p
