The powered coaster - a true classic

We have so many coaster types in planet coaster, some of them have only been installed a few times, like the Sky Wheel (Power Up) or the Inverted Impulse Coaster (Viper One). Of course it's nice to also have exotic coasters, but you must not forget about the classic rides you find almost everywhere. The MACK Rides Powered coaster has been around for a really long time, and can be found in parks all around the world. There are powered coasters by other manufacturers as well, but with over 29 installations, the MACK Rides powered coaster is the most successful. In fact, even more successful than the Vekoma Mine Train we have right now, which has been installed "only" 14 times.
It is a nice family ride and the fact that it doesn't need a lifthill makes it really unique. You can just build it like you want, and can fully concentrate on scenery and landscaping and don't worry about the speed of the coaster, because it is powered.

Facts:
-Over 29 installations, the first one was built in 1976, and it is still offered and built by MACK Rides.
-Possesses a motor, so it can accelerate even on straight track or uphill.
-Up to 65 km/h (e.g. Thunder Run at Canada's Wonderland)
-The speed can be controlled for different sections of the layout
-Can run one train which completes 2 or more laps
-Can run two trains with a block system
-Long trains with 10 cars are possible, which allows 40 riders per train
-Low price
-Family friendly

I will +1 this as well :D

To be more specific :
Every trackpiece should work like a launched section where you can set the target speed. That way you can give the train certain speeds on different parts of the track [cool]

Yeah exactly, that's what I had in mind when saying "The speed can be controlled for different sections of the layout" :)

We need all the Mack rides! :D

Yeah, this one, The Launch/Hyper/Megacoaster (One type that is so flexible is just amazing) and a wild mouse, which is even more classic than than the powered coaster and one of the first coaster types. Mack's wild mice were pretty popular, but I wouldn't have a problem with Gerstlauers Bobsled as well. As long as they allow banking on either one, because I find just flat curves boring and like to have some helices in between.

Yes even their Flatrides and their Observation Tower :)

I could definitely need all their rides, especially their observation tower:D

Yeah, they have some neat flat rides as well. But since when do they build observation towers? The one at Europa-Park is Intamin...

Yes they need full track support. I want to make a wild mouse even wilder by having outward banked turns. The laterals will be insane.

Everything Mack builds is sexy. Just look at that track, JUST LOOK AT IT! Also look at those Mack Hyper coasters. Holy moly I wish we had those in the game.

Yeah, give us the inverted powered coaster from Mack Rides. It's really cool with different speeds and arranged rotation of the cars...

Do keep in mind that Frontier has to avoid the use of trademarked names, manufacturers, logos, etc. Now, they can create the look of the powered coaster, (just like with B&M's), but not the name.

The Mack coasters that I would like to see in the game, besides the powered coaster, are:

Of course you are right. I just assumed. I don't know really why I thought that for so long [wacky]

By the way bobsled: why Gerstlauer Bobsled when you can have a Mack Bobsled like Avalanche?

Maybe you should check what a Gerstlauer Bobsled is. Because it has nothing to do with a Mack Bobsled. The Gerstlauer Bobsled is a wild mouse coaster which usually contains banked helixes and other elements as well, not just curves and drops.
The Mack Bobsled is much more exotic and would be a lot of work for Frontier, since they had to program new physics and behaviour for it. I hope it comes at some point (next Winter Update maybe? [rolleyes]) but I wouldn't say it is so basic that it is a must-have.

Who cares about how they call it in game? [tongue]
Also, I don't think "powered coaster" is a protected name. It's just a description.

Yea.. we already have way too many Gerstlauers in the game.

I like the Gerstlauer Bobsled Wild Mouse more though, because it can do more than a Mack Wild Mouse.

But I feel like Frontier is doing their best to avoid the Wild Mouse coaster. El Loco. Spinning Coaster. Spinning Wild Mouse Coaster.
But a classic Wild Mouse coaster? Nah. :[squeeeeee]
A wild mouse is even more classic than a powered coaster. How is it not a thing yet.
