The Price we paid for Legs...

Performance and visual fidelity.

Not worth it in the end, after giving the DLC an honest go over the past 3 months personally.

PS - you can still find geo sites via the "heat" map, I only did so the other day.. legacy bio sites I'm not so sure, presumably they work the same way as long as you look on airless planets?

FDEV: " here CMDR have some legs... but geological sites are now invisible to the scanners on your ship! your welcome"

what did you give up for legs?

They always were, what you had were artificial POI's that didn't reflect the actual spread of vulcanism across a planet, the planets are now more realistic, so now you don't get 1 geo site on a planet the size of earth! We gave up nothing, we gained a superior simulation, some people can't handle that and would prefer the old way back, remember the cries and whimpering when the ADS was replaced by the FSS?

No they have been given the superior simulation treatment as well and no longer appear as isolated bunches in an area of millions of square kilometers in size!

You're talking about Horizons bio sites, right? I haven't actively searched for them so far, since EDO's launch I haven't come across them yet although I'm sticking mainly to the bubble still so maybe that's why.

I GAINED the fact that I now have to search for geo and bio sites - a massive IMPROVEMENT over being given a google pin to go to.
You're welcome ;)
I don't mind searching for them but using some appropriate tools for the job would be realistic

Correct horizons treatment of bio/geo sites was broken
But it is a Spaceship simulation, surely the technology exists so I would be able to get a vague idea (couple 1000 square klms) of where the bio/geo sites are based on Oh i don't know outgassing from fumaroles, biological markers in the atmosphere ... you know what's that stuff called? ... oh yeah science

don't have a problem having to spend time orbiting a planet adjusting the scanners etc but the idea i should just fly around randomly in a ship cable of superluminal travel, to find sites detectable from another planet using optical and radio telescopes (even now by 21st century humans) seems slightly backwards

Yeah - I can see you now in your DBX with the square mile array attached to it to discover geological sites. Great analogy! Please tell me how slapping a cut/paste bio/geo site on the side of a mountain with a POI from space was remotely correct or realistic. It was added after insistent bleating from a vocal portion of the community - not because it was correct or realistic. Glad it's gone.
