The problem of flat attractions !!!

I do not understand why they add flat attractions to every update if no visitor has access ! it's not realistic at all ! for example: the pirate ship is never used by visitors [down] !! you have to change this problem !

Can you supply us with a screenshot of your flats? Maybe we can see what’s wrong.

he's not speaking about rides, he's speaking about objects like paddle wheel steamer, pirate ship and sorts. attractions to look at. he likes to have visitors not just walking by those things, but also walking into/onto by curiosity and let them visually examine all parts of such objects.

Vista Points fix that problem. Very usefull to attract some visitors to areas with no rides, where they otherwise wouldn't go. If it is a issue of no lines with that kind of attractions, free rides and paid park entry gives descent amounts at otherwise hardly visited rides, because there is no money issue, and thus are less money decisive about selecting rides to ride.

without rides theres no game. people ride mine more than coasters. And there are only so many types of coasters they can give us. Not sure what u mean by guests don’t have access to em.

In fact, I'm talking about rides like the pirate ship where visitors do not go on it because the level of excitement is too low, boat always empty ! [down]

I don't have problems with my flat rides, but I DO make sure the ride queues are all at 100%. I wonder if that is the problem.

Excitement too low? Look at the prestige. That’s what will get people in. Make sure the queue is high, price is correct, maybe out some amenities nearby. I find that if I neglect an area of the park then numbers trickle down. Perhaps when you build low excitement rides, keep a space empty near it for another one to rejuvenate the area and drag people back.

joelallen3: Yes that's what I want to talk about, people never go and it's a shame because this IRL attraction is very popular !

Yup, it can be rather game breaking and has not been fixed, it’s something to do with the excitement rating! We need a dev to give us an update with this.

I am super picky about which flats I will use because why bother with the ones no one touches. I have made some skins I love and are never used by guests so now I only really skin rides guests will use. This REALLY needs to be balanced. Maybe add a stat for guests that like 'relaxing' rides and add 'relaxing' as a stat to flats.

My opinion throughout:

In Bumpin Derby the default ride sequence is Bump Around x 2 with a bare prestige of 232. According to Infinity's Guide to Ride Setup he didn't find a higher prestige sequence. That list worked well for me until the 1.6 update, but recently I wondered if what happened is that the devs changed the EFN/Prestige calculations or what goes into them. That might change which ride sequences gave higher Prestige, right?

So I tested Bumpin Derby from Bump Around x 1 to Bump Around x 8 -- the highest Prestige, from Bump around x 5, was 391! And in game with 100% queue scenery and triggered effects I got it up to 548.

So maybe a few of us should get together and test all the flat rides, see if we can find higher Prestige ride sequences for each. But this is a not-fun labor-intensive effort (between Bumpin Derby and the new flats I've spent several hours on it so far) -- is it worth it if in some future update the devs will (like they did to Infinity in the 1.6 update) destroy all our efforts without so much as a word?

I guess the devs realised as well, that combining only the 1st available sequence 6 times shouldn't really be more fun than doing it once or twice. I never understood why for example the tea cups 6x clockwise is more fun than playing around with both available options (clockwise and anticlockwise).

So maybe they did change it? I don't mind it really. I love playing around with the sequences (even if it gives lower scores).

I think duration sometimes has something to do with it -- on Bumpin Derby, Bump Around x 5 gives 268.8 seconds to play around in, which seems to be the max before guests start to get bored. As for the tea cups, no idea.

I've less objection to the devs changing the calculations (after all, isn't that part of what we're asking for when we advocate for improved Prestige balance?) -- it's more that, in the 1.6 update, they appear to have done so without saying anything, destroying game balance in existing parks and leaving us to wonder why it's not fun anymore. They could've just said something like "Hey, we're working on improving the calculations, you'll probably have to change your ride sequences, try (suggestions based on the changes they made)."

And playing around with the ride sequences can be fun -- as an option. That's why Infinity's Guide to Ride Setup was such a godsend, we weren't forced to stop everything and grind through multiple save/ride-setup/test/reload/repeats anymore.

Indeed when it comes to prestige you are right, it wasn't maybe something asked for, but it does give the other options more value if they did.
And yeah, it would be nice to know if these kinds of things have changed. I always feel the patch notes always seems to not contain every detail.

Did anyone notice signs can now also advertise toilets?
Probably some already did. It was a much requested thing because we weren't able to after 1.4. But I don't recall (even when checking it now) it being in the patch notes after that (from 1.4 to 1.7.3). Only a mention about vista points.

To come to that conclusion, but that's a different story. The "General improvements & Fixes" on every patch note. They don't need to tell what has changed, but rather the area of the game that has been changed, so we can somewhat relate to issues we have because that has changed.

So yeah, in that matter, IF it was changed, it would be nice to know for sure.

edit: added maybe in the first line.

Yes, I noticed we can advertise toilets. I haven't checked guest thoughts, but I'm expecting....

"I wanted to go to the toilet, but that advert made me want to go more!"
