The Proteus Wave video never goes away

I know the feeling, I'm often wondering what's wrong with me, not that I can stand watching Yamiks videos.. :)

It sounds like a good idea to replace the cutscene with a saucy video, not that I have any videos but I do have some nice pics of Aisling in the nude :D

Those hulked out artifacts in my hold do go away either. I'm paralyzed thinking I'll need them to unlock modules, so I've stopped playing - waiting for the next update to find out if I will need them later.

C'mon FDEV - should I wait to log in until the next update, or is safe to sell these heck bound things?

Oh my god!

You are so right. The scales have fallen from my eyes! Thank you for your comment. You have now saved countless lives. Instead of being on a games forum complaining about something as frivolous as the amount my time is wasted in the game, I should be in more important social media complaining about the important issues of the day

I'm sure if I phrase a Tweet just right I can persuade Putin to pull out of Ukraine. Sitting in my armchair here I should be able to design a cheap and stable nuclear fusion reactor that I can post on the internet and stop global warming

Some folks might say that your post complaining about the triviality of a post is itself trivial. And I say to those people... "mind yer own business!" They don't realise the importance of your post that made me change my ways, and stopped me from typing useless rants which I do for my own pleasure
i like to point things out to people for my own pleasure. if they behave in certain ways, i like them to know

And that's perfectly fine, after all this is just a games forum so we don't need to type anything important here

You can take this reply as an example. It's around 380 bytes long. That's peanuts compared to the amount of data passed around on the internet these days

As of today (Sept 30th) I am no longer seeing the video when freshly logging into the game. Guess it had an expiry date hard-coded into the game all along because I don't remember seeing an update overnight...

There's maintenance every week on the same day, that it should vanish after the weekly maintenance is probably not a coincidence.

Interestng ... I thought maybe I'd pressed escape subconciously. I wonder if expiration date is hard coded or based on the date of the file. Has anyone replaced it with a different video (I meant to replace it with the ToCoSo Buckyball vid but never did). Curious if a newer file would still continue to play? (that's how I'd have coded it).

I would have set the video to play at a command from the server on starting the game, that way all they need to do is upload new videos and they can play them when they want, if the expiration date is hard coded they would need to do that for every video they wanted to play on startup, if it's a server command then there's no extra coding required.
