The questionable logic of Thargoids (SPOILERS)

So the Thargoids were appalled that the Guardians were violent and at war.

Their conclusion was to exterminate the Guardians. Seems like a silly conclusion to me.

All living things compete for resources.

Even plants conduct chemical warfare and compete for light and water.

Extending the Thargoid logic would leave the galaxy devoid of life. We know that countless systems have life on planets as reported from scan data. I guess the Thargoids were lazy?

Assuming the Thargoids had full access to the Guardian repositories of information, they would understand how biological communities and life works.

Help me to understand the inconsistencies in their behavior.

Maybe their motives are what they are because they were written by a human - the only organism in the galaxy that wars for sport?

"the only organism in the galaxy that wars for sport" - Using the data we know until now, we need to agree that we don't know so much about the rest of thge galaxy so we have plenty room to more agressive species.

And for sure, war experience will be great usefull to deal with a more agressive species... So, everything have a purpose - even wars.

The guardians happened across thargoid barnacles and started using them, the thargoids didnt like this so responded by attacking the guardians. Thargoids didnt just attack the guardians for no reason.Guardians tried to communicate with thargoids but thargoids didnt care and would only keep attacking.

Guardians used AI constructs to teach the thargoids a lesson, looks like the constructs killed of the guardians instead and left the thargoids alone.

This should sound familiar, were now doing exactly what the guardians did to counter the goids ie automated defenses

So basically, skynet... Lol

I'm so far behind on this guardian stuff, I have no clue what the hell is going on.
Same with the Thargoids really.

And the bubble.

Well of course they dont make sense...if they did Id be out there right now...but they dont and until they do, I leave them alone and they leave me alone. Everyone else wants to poke a stick into the hornets nest, by all means knock yerselves out and fill yer boots. But I have almost no interest in thargoids whatsoever...because they dont make sense basically ^

It wasn't the Thargoids, mate.

False news. Better read the Guardian version of the story first:

https://canonn.science/codex/guardians-codex/

The Thargoids regarded the planets they had previously seeded as their property and were upset when they found out the Guardians had developed there when they finally returned. According to Ram Tah, a peaceful solution was not exactly on their agenda, but the Guardians made them retreat by force. Later, the Guardians themselves were destroyed by the 'house-keeping' party of their AI Constructs they had trusted their civilization on. It was a Skynet scenario, quite unrelated to Thargoids.

The parallels to the fate of Humanity in the current conflict are evident.

Why should Thargoids follow that logic? We are a species that knows that the tech we build is destroying our planet and that killing is bad and atomic bombs are even worse for us and planet Earth... I guess Thargoids have a right to be at least as stupid as we are. :D

We only have the Guardian side of the story so far.
From the Thargoid perspective (seen through human eyes) it might have looked something like this -

Thargoid: Hey you ! Get off our lawn !
Guardian: Can we talk about this ?
Thargoid: No, get lost !
Guardian: No, You get lost !

A punch up ensues. Some minor hits are landed.
Guardians explode into a ball of AI butterflies that all fly away.

Thargoid 1: What the .. ?
Thargoid 2: yeah, that was weird.

Thargoid 1: Oh well, back to the mundane life of a migratory farmer.

;)

Aliens are, well, alien.
Why should they follow human logic?

Even an alien cannot overcome a logical paradox. Like laws of physics, we don't meet a stranger and think "why should this individual I know nothing about have to be subjected to the laws of physics, how do I know those laws even apply to them?"
