The Czech plan seems to have helped, so we are doing a similar version. Masks for all. The national mask production efforts sent out tenders yesterday.
Plan is to mass produce and distribute, get as many people as possible behind an N99 filter in public

Our engineering team is getting autoclave paper I sourced to an independent lab to measure filtration today. Plan is to laser cut it in batches, and use it as viral filter material. The cutter got calibrated and tested yesterday.

Doing a 2nd reusable respirator prototype at home, by hand.
Putting in a stethoscope diaphragm, so I can speak through it, changing the exhaust valves to axial flap, and adding intake valve filter compartment for briney cotton packing before the N99 paper. It's way smaller too.

We got the first case of suspected encephalitis yesterday, routed it to specialist care. High fever, breathing problems, and seizures. Nasty stuff. There's a suggestion out that virus hits the olfactory nerve and gives anosmia, travels up to the brain that way.
Let's see if there's another cause first though, one we could treat.

1081 sailors tested positive on the aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" and the naval aviation group accompanying it out of a total of 2300 people, according to provisional figures.

Thanks guys, hadn't heard.

Here is a piece by a photographer who took the "zombie" picture making the rounds.
It's important to note his motivation to frame the shot, and to try to humanize the individuals in the picture, but you can't really alter the face of what it is, and the potential threat to the living that is implied.
