Feel free to call me weird, but the single time I used the external camera tonight, outside Galileo Station, it actually had the effect of 'taking me out of the game'.
It was like being engrossed in a great film and then seeing a microphone boom come into shot, or seeing the wires holding superman up or something. I'm sure this is entirely a personal thing.

Going by other postings I don't think the cam in general is your thing pilot, no offense meant at all. But at least your concerns over its abuse can be largely laid to rest, so win on that front for you. Many of us will be duckfacing around though.

I like the way they have implemented this. The camera is too slow to be of any tactical use in a fight and you are not able to control your ship or use any systems when the camera mode is active - great job
Those shots all look awesome.
The camera mode is going to become really useful for spreading ED love around to other people/places, the game is gorgeous and what a crazy idea to not allow people to show that off!! Well done Frontier on changing your minds over this aspect. I will probably get around to buying some skins now at some point

I would like to see more functionality added to this camera like flyby views and perhaps player to target so you can watch your enemy swoop past you in a fight. I dont agree at all with the need to make this so limited. Its just pandering to the hard core lot. And why are the keys so flipping difficult to activate it - just set one key for it for godsake - although I assume I can do that myself in the key mapping hopefully.
I also would love to see a rear view camera view added to the cockpit monitors. This is a must.
