Cool thread, I’ve had many watches, I loved my Omega Speedmaster and the Breitling Navitimer Olympus, but Rolex is my favourite brand. I’ve had the Submariner steel no-date, Submariner gold/steel and a classic GMT Master full gold with black dial and the jubilee bracelet. My grail has always been the 18K Day-Date, the «President», and I recently found and bought a mint 2002, until now a safe-queen, almost unworn. This is now my everyday timepiece. Don’t know if I’ll ever buy another watch :)

And that's a very nice watch indeed.

Keep them coming :)

Thanks. Looks better in the flesh. Rubbish photo. I may have to replace photo as it makes it look terrible.

I particularly love the hand painted luminous numbers. Plus its manual which I love too as it connects me to my predecessors every morning.

Yeah my speedy is manual as well and it's nice to be able to wind it evry couple of days, sort of gives you a connection with it.

I have a little Tag 2000 Professional which I'm quite fond of as well. I tend to use it as a knockabout watch.

Nice thread, #IBlameTJ for it.

I'm not a fan of watches, I never actually wore one. Always thought that having a thing that constantly reminds you of passing time, which inevitably leads to your death is just depressing :p

But, I was going through a really tough time in my life 2 years ago, it really got me to the border of nervous breakdown and just giving up altogether. The kind of time you just wanna erase from your memory. My parents sent me a gift on my birthday. It was a watch with engraving at the back plate, not sure which translation is better, but it was along these lines: "You can be weighted down under things, but you can't be broken" or "One can bend down, but one can't be broken".

They didn't know about my troubles at the time, as I didn't want to worry them. They must have sensed something, I don't know. The timing couldn't be better. This gift gave me strength to pull through that time and I wear that watch ever since.

I'll post the photo later on.
