You know, I think you might have frightened the PvP crowd away. :)

Don't know about the PvP crowd, but turning around while building furniture today to see her like that over me - scared a few years out of me.
Also had flash backs to the film, Misery

Edit;

I think I just REALLY creeped myself out !!

[2nd Edit - You know you want her to play in Solo mode :p ]

Be lucky that this isn't imgur.. she'd be a meme by now :p

But a good point has been made for why the 3 modes still exist and need to exist and no one be forced into any certain type of play.

She may have some in her.. had my sister sit her when I had a trip.. When she finally emerged from the carrier I kept getting text messages on how huge she was :p

That is one seriously-large cat (the Maines run large).

I think I'm in trouble......

I want one of those Magic Wands to mount on the C4 Huge hardpoint on the Anaconda's belly! Destroying a Fer-De-Lance or Anaconda with rainbow sparklies would be a definite plus for me. After all, the Powers all have their specialized weapons except for the Alliance...

LOL

My youngest - the face of pro mode switching.

The perils of flying solo in Open Play

I don't think that I will ever want to fly solo in Open Play ever again after watching the following video. Is this really the kind of gameplay that Frontier Developments envisions as being fun for players flying solo in Open Play? And, yes, I used to fly a Vulture solo in Open Play a lot, so I was lucky that this <snip> never happened to me.

Welcome to the new meta! Stealth IS a way to play the game...and torpedoes ARE that good...and...yes...this IS what the gameplay in Open is like..sometimes. If you want to avoid this...do not stop and fight...just jump away!

This is exactly what Open mode should be. Thanks for sharing. :)

Vulture wasn't paying attention and got bit because of it. Had he been watching his back, been wary of unresolved contacts (always investigate unresolved contacts, they may kill you if you ignore them), taken evasive action and moved pips to SYS when it became apparent he was under attack, he would have been able to escape without much difficulty.

If he had dropped a heatsink or gone silent the moment his sheilds failed, he also may have been able to escape, as the torpedo lock would have been broken.

I used to fly a Vulture, alone, in Open. This never happened to me, not because no one attempted it, but because I pay attention.

Erm am I missing something? I dont see anything wrong with the vid. The CMDR attacked sneakily when attention was elsewhere. Thats the best way to attack anyone. Minimises risk and catches the opponent unawares. Seemed okay to me.

Indeed.

Alternately, you can give them a large dose of laxative when you see them at the local cantina, and then shadow them until they abruptly stop to use the john (which is very inconveniently located on the Asp):

Of course, if they do manage to make it to the ejection seat in time, or have an ejection seat retrofitted to the toilet, and come back for revenge five minutes later, it's prudent to be competent in a straight up fight as well:

Moral of the story is that honor in combat is for suckers and that a lack of honor in combat doesn't imply a lack of ability. Also, don't interdict combat FDLs with pirate Asps.
