It it would just be more interesting and fun.
What is interesting and fun to you can be dull and tedious to other people. Not everyone is like you.
Cheers, Phos.

Harking back to what the developers said over and over is an appeal to authority, and in the context of a discussion is irrelevant when we are discussing the merits of one thing or another.
That's a given, if you would like to discuss it, I'm all for it, but I don't see what the point of popping in here to say "I don't like it" is.
Referring to verified quotes by the developer about the game is not an "appeal to authority" - it's drawing attention to published information.
If there's a particular way of playing a game that some people won't enjoy, it shouldn't be compulsory.
Cheers, Phos.
LOL, yeha this totally kills the efficiency/person
Iand it's trying to end the debate without discussion.
How does advertising make something fair? It would be more fair because people can't turn invisible and undermine your work. And I guess it's really not about fairness, it would just be more interesting and fun. It doesn't hurt solo players in any way.

When did I mention compulsory anything?

And you know I can't speak for other people so bringing up what other people said is irrelevant, I can't speak for them, nor explain what they said, ask them. I'm in no way connected to those people or their thoughts.
So you agree that people should be able to play in their way, in a mode of their choice, without having to meet other people?
Cheers, Phos.
As long as they cannot impact the BGS seems to be the condition being set.
Which has an upside, as a none open trader.... if my trades don't impact the BGS... I won't be forcing prices down, neither would anyone else in solo. Wonder how fast 1 trade route would spring up as "thee" trade route for solo, where we all earn silly money and because of no impact on the BGS, it would be a fixed high profit for everyone![]()
I would be leading that charge!
It is an appeal to authority argument, and it's trying to end the debate without discussion. Which is all we are doing here.
No...it's not:
http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-authority.html
Basically, if Neil DeGrasse-Tyson, makes a claim about economics...and expects people to believe him because he is an astrophysicist...that is an appeal to authority.
Stating the factual statements of the owners of the game that the design will not be changed...is a factual statement to someone expressing a personal opinion.
Why should we disbelieve what Frontier themselves have said?
.... and this debate will probably last as long as the game does.
In the context of whether or not a seperate bgs is fair interesting or fun it most certainly is.

If fd has answered then what are any of you doing here? Close the thread or just paste that after any comment. If you want to discuss the merits of something let's do that and not repetitively try and distract the conversation.
Of course I stated that multiple times

.... two of the three criteria (arguably all three) are subjective.
