Actually, if you read some of the threadnaught (start with Iteration #2 perhaps), this is the mirror of the Solo/Groups stance: we're fine with the modes as they are. I certainly am not arguing for the removal of Open.

That quote is from over a year ago, when E: D was still in Beta. And it was his personal opinion then, you'll have to ask the man himself if he still feels that way, and even then the group's rules don't agree with that (IIRC).

Additionally you place the quote and your comment without context - that quote doesn't change the fact that Mobius Private Group is a PvE group (with its own rules, which include the option for consensual PvP in conflict zones).
So... stay away from Rares routes (which give many new players their first real credits), and stay away from Community Goals (so don't get involved in the community)? And don't dare start out in one of the starter systems? (impossible)

The Mobius group isn't a PvE-only group. Rather, it's a group without non-consensual PvP. There are some kinds of PvP sanctioned by Mobius and the main group members, what they have in common is that they require the players to intentionally choose to engage in PvP or intentionally make themselves available for PvP.
Kinda like PvE servers in MMOs. They usually aren't about completely removing PvP, but rather about making PvP optional.

if PVP is possible it is possible and not a PVP free zone. Some keep saying PVP is unlikely in OPen so by your definition Open is PVP free too >.> So again .. there is 1 PVP free mode and some balance is requested.
