This discussion is still going on... really...?
I just thought to drop in and see how (and why) on earth this discussion is still going on.
I've read a few posts and I have to wonder when (or if) the penny will ever drop that, even after probably thousands of pages of posts across all the associated threads in this subject, Fdev will not change how the game is structured.
It doesn't matter how strong you feel your point of view is, nor how cleverly you can turn a phrase.
You only have to look at the success of Mobius to understand how popular PvE is, and remember Fdev know exactly the breakdown of private/group/open play. So, even if the split is (aaah) even, why would Fdev irritate 1/3 (and arguably 2/3) of their user base, and reduce the appeal of the game to that section of their prospective (aka 'waiting for planetary landings') market place?
Well they won't, it's just business - so get over it.
