So what do you know about the advantage 'air conditioning unit'? Power source; for example?

Magic.

I'm in a funny mood today. Well I guess a few days.

Obviously it would not actually work, but one can dream.

I also support socks being sold in sets of three so you have a spare.

Well you say that; 'it would not work', but some American's, said that there was no real need to to prevent CO2 emissions etc., we can just build artificial trees. A whole new industry, but a load of dirty great pylon sized things all over the place.

I wouldn't be against giant air cleaners.

Continuing in semi-joking way:

AC cools down the space on one side of the wall and heating up the space on the other side of the wall. But as a net effect it heats up the environment, because, like most such machines, it turns electrical energy into heat energy. That's why the cooling side heat exchanger is much smaller than the radiator on the outside. :p

To cool down the Earth, you'd have to devise a machine that turns environmental heat into electricity, for example.

Cant we connect one side to the moon and the other to earth?

Paint everything white and cover all land with white flowers, to reflect the heat.

Set off a nuclear bomb every noon to move the Earth away from the Sun.

There is no such thing, like the thing, globally speaking. Glaciers been shrinking ever. Didn't you watch what happens to your ice-cream in summer. It melts. It's just natural.

Global warming? Are you kidding me. that nonsense used to wash with folk in the 90's when the winters were warmer. Remember the super mild winter of 1999? Roll the clock forward today and it's colder. There is a reason why they changed it to climate change.

Errr, no, they changed it because some people were to dumb to realize that global warming didnt mean the warming of their back yard. The change we talk about is a couple degrees per century. Anyone who walks outside and makes claims about global warming because it happens to be colder or warmer than expect doesn't have the slightest clue what they are talking about.

The weather is cyclic. Some years it's colder, some warmer. We'll be long gone before it returns to our perception of normal. The accurate measuring of climate is a young technology. Could be no more than 200 years old. We cannot possibly know the true historical climate stats. I don't buy the fear prop or swallow the kool aid. They can post pictures of Polar Bears on melting ice blocks, off the coast of Norway, in the spring all they like. It's spring, ice melts, end of.

Investments in GenIV GenV nuclear power means the ability to mass produce nuclear reactor cores compared to the current "specialization" required to manufacture current GenII pressure vessels. All this means is that right now a nuke plant costs several billions and cost overruns and delays to build and solve power issues (and climate change) but with newer designs that would mean cheaper production and faster production schedule.
