The SRV has fallen and it can't get up

Because with Assist on, throttle position=certain speed (like cruise control), while with assist off throttle position=simply throttle position, therefore much finer control over power transfer?

thats a good description, I had to switch on today to keep my buggy rolling for some footage.

Rugged terrain or steep inclines -Drive assist ON

All other terrain - Drive assist OFF

Has always worked for me. Always seen drive assist as full 6x6 mode

Uhhh guys, I hate to bring you the news...

The SRV had it's weight doubled to 4t.

That's a rumour. Or do you have a link to an official statement about that?

So far I don't really noticed a difference when driving. Yeah, the SRV might be heavier, but perhaps it's not and everything is like before. I also think terrain didn't change, but only colouration. At least I didn't hear or read anything official about that.
When stuck I usually put all pips on engines for more power and longer air time. Perhaps that helps?

What also works is closing the game and start it up without horizons. You will be relocated into your ship and placed in orbit.

Has anything changed wrt terrain? I thought that was a Q4 release

In the mean time try reversing up

Just take the sparkplugs out and wind it up the hill using the starting handle
