Hmm. Embarrassing.
What's most embarrasing about this is the hacker who published the leak and then downloaded the data, instead of just notifying CIG about it and let them fix it. Hackers like this should be permabanned from the game immediately (on first time offense), IMO.

It wasn't really a hack was it? Didn't he just trace the url ?

Also how do you permaban someone? lol...

About the leak (someone manipulating an URL from a screenshot) I bet Disco Lando is quite embarrassed and will probably think twice before showing fans pictures on reddit :p. Though it seems like reddit is automatically deleting anything related to the leak and just for lols I checked torrents, and I cannot find the leak there so I guess it's already vanished? I was not going to download it anyway but I was just curious to see how many people were sharing the files.

It was an unfortunate event but I certainly don't think Lando should feel responsible in any way. If anything it's on who setup the server, no need for it to be publicly accessible at all, especially with what was on there.

Not really hacking though is it, the data was totally unsecured in the first place. I do agree that people should keep their noses out of things that don't belong to them but curiousity killed the cat and all that.

Agreed. Not really his fault. They should ATLEAST have a basic login system so not anyone can just pull information off a link.

Regarding the leak, here are some game asset images taken from the build. The F8 looks absolutely awesome!

Absolutely. Putting company critical data on a publicly accessible web site without any form of authentication is just about the most schoolboy error you can make.

The Blade looks nice. The sunken cockpit on the F8 reminds me a little of the Vulture. It looks like a Super Hornet killer.

I'm guessing the F8 will be the stealth ship for the humans. Constructed after capturing a Kilrat . . Vandul stealth ship during SQ42. I'm calling it.

And here is a true behemoth, the Retribution class Dreadnought. Shown with a Bengal and a Kingship.

This reminds me of that planet destroyer ship in WC3, the one that didn't work.

Damn, that Retribution looks sweet. It looks to be around the same size as the Bengal with a freaking giant gun stuck on the front :D

I really like how the F8 is turning out. Their new ships are turning out a lot better now that the process is streamlined than the initial bunch. They need to slowly go back and re-do them all, especially for thruster placements.

Also damn on that dreadnought, do they have lore on it I can read up?

Lol, call it tin foil stuff but I love how the only net effect so far of this leak seems to be "awesome" pics and videos of ship pron that everyone is loving so far. Lando and whomever set that Url up may be even actually promoted after this :)J

Just a little:

What would you do if you had the biggest gun in the galaxy? BAT offers the opportunity to answer that question in the form of their massive 130mm “Ship Buster” rail gun system. The most powerful single-charge rail gun in known space, a hit from a Ship Buster is capable of smashing a destroyer as though it were a tin can.A single Ship Buster forms the keel mount of the Bengal carrier, while a series of the weapons forms the fighting power of the Retribution-class. These rail guns use the same technologies as standard fighter-based mass drivers, on a massive scale once thought impossible to achieve. Series of thousands and thousands of charged electromagnets generate the power needed to throw the 130mm slugs.

Heh - well I suppose if you are going to have a "leak" generating free publicity for lots of shiny new ships when better to do it than on the eve of a rival's major update - surely not....

:)
