After finally downloading the client (12 hours) I found a few issues with starting the game because that's my luck. Learned the game will either lockup the machine or the graphics driver will reset if the Windows swapfile is too small ( less than 800MB ). A profile in CCC for required for SC to use Crossfire, AFR works nicely. The options menu is comically stretched across an eyefinity display so far my mouse starts panting, and I don't know which "Joystick/HOTAS" is my yoke, pedals or r/c controller. Any hints on how to easily identify, or provide another method of controller setup, would be greatly appreciated.
They really need to work on this. I think it is from the current PTU update. Can you say point and click killing like a mother------?

So, after 2-3 hours of trying to get the game to launch, I finally got my first glimpse at the game. Admittedly, I was kinda disappointed at first. The hangar crushed all my hopes and dreams of decent FPS rates. Naturally that lead to graphic settings tweaks, followed by desperate hopes for forum/reddit guidance. Turns out all those shiny ships sitting around had done the same for some others, so I soldiered on. Glad I did! In game was much more forgiving on FPS and medium settings gave me very tolerable frames on a 3-4 year old graphics card.
I haven't really watched much footage from this game, so I was not expecting this to be half as immersive as it was. The sound effects from the pilot in particular constantly drew me in to game. Playing around with high speed maneuvers was surprisingly nerve wracking. The red/blackouts creeping in, the pilots labored breathing, and the computer calmly warning about collisions all added to a pretty pronounced feeling of danger.
And combat made that even better! Everything about combat felt very visceral. The sound work in this game is fantastic so far. The nose mounted gatling cannon shredding fighters felt very satisfying. The missiles even more so. And while I'm still trying to get a handle on flight in general, I had much more fun with it than I expected.
A few waves in and a lost wing later, I realized that the combat in this game vaguely reminds me of space combat in Battlestar Galatica somehow. Things feel urgent and dangerous. And that's definitely a good way for combat to feel, IMO!
Tl;dr - I think I found a good reason to upgrade my computer. Can't wait to see how this game turns out!
I finally caved in and got star citizen, i got me an avenger and here are my thoughts self.starcitizen

So at first i was over whelmed because there were like 15 ships in my hangar and i freaked out and thought "I DIDN'T BUY ALL THESE SHIPS WHAT?!" soon i figured out why and also learned how to just have my main ship in the hangar, which also gave me a fps boost hahah
I got into arena commander and at first i had no idea what i was doing (obviously) so i just did some free flight and got a hang of things, flew around a bit, crashed a few times, pressed a couple keys and didn't know why i couldn't fly till the chat box was filled with randomness and eventually i could keep my self stable and fly without going into an infinite spin, which for me was a big win because i was getting real dizzy
After about 10 mins of getting used to flying i went to fight the vanduul and got my ass kicked, second time around i used the 325a and finally figured out that the boxes that i thought were for show were actually where my guns were pointing which made things 100x easier and i felt 100x more stupid for not realizing it.
So my second round of fighting vanduuls, i crashed and lost my last re spawn from fighting the elite guys and i realized that i just got one of the most addicting games I've encountered in awhile. I've been really bored lately going from game to game and as a guy with a hard time with attention SC really kept me focused and also someone battling OCD it for some reason really helped me too also i think it's a bit damaging lmao.
overall i am really excited, i feel like Commander Shepard in a way, and everytime im in the hangar and i see my ship im like "that's my baby" i dunno, i'm a weird guy but i appreciate the little things that make a game a game. keep up the good work guys, im really excited for the future![]()
Hangar filled with all the flyable ships! (GPU sweating like a pig)
I think you can edit the xml directly. However you'll likely have to figure out input device IDs.
Here's an older topic, dunno how valid that is to be honest, but maybe it'll work for you: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/110454/guide-actionmap-and-controller-mapping
Does SC support the Rift DK2 already?

For what it's worth, I'm fairly certain that it isn't from the latest PTU update, since it's missing the ESP toggle.
