The Star Citizen Thread v9

Is it me, or has this thread gone completely offtopic? Have the rules been relaxed about keeping on topic here, or have I wandered into a Ketchup thread?

Needs seriously cleaning to make this thread readable again.

We'd talk about the game if there was one.

Buy an Idris! With brown sauce!

Some people say Croydon is the UK's armpit. Some role say Slough. Or Grimsby (!)...

As per Sir John Betjeman's 1937 poem...

Come, friendly bombs, and fall on Slough!
It isn't fit for humans now....

Yes it has, and it's been immeasurably improved in the process, now begone foul ketchupist, you'll be espousing mayonnaise with chips next.

Am i right in thinking that the procedural city planet they showed off many moons ago is in the roadmap for around 12 months away?
I heard it on a video somewhere and I've struggled to find any official word on it.

The procedural city planet is ArcCorp, and currently scheduled for 3.4 in Q4 2018

... but will actually release as a Tier 0 implementation somewhere in 2020.

Meaning it will have a handful of handcrafted buildings, rudimentary infrastructure (roads, powerlines) and lots of empty real estate but of course this is only the very first step and the planet-spanning city will grow constantly along the games core mechanics as they are designed and invented.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

Have they ever talked again about what the plan is to ramp up production of such assets? I mean, the game is supposed to have hundreds of systems with I'm assuming at least dozens of big, 'hero' level assets for the player to dock/land at.

I don't think there has been any talk, people bank on the procedural generation "tools and pipelines" speeding things up while ignoring that so many of these systems are unique.

We don't mention ramps after last year's Citcon...
