The Starting System...

I did a few searches with varying syntax, but cannot find the answer. Do all CMRD's start in the same system? Noob question, sorry, but nonetheless, I don't know the answer and don't want to wipe my game data to find out. I started in LHS 3447, is that the only starting point?

Yep, we all have to start somewhere and that somewhere is LHS 3447.

I joined the game about 3 months ago and that was my start point. I think those that bought into various points in the earlier development may have other options of starting ship and location though. Also in horizons there was talk of starting out from a planets settlement...or was that just the beta? i'm old and tired sorry.

I found the you tube videos of Troa Barton really useful starting out

Anyway have fun everything you need to get into a viper or Cobra III is around you within about 20ly

Probably LHS 3447 but it's been so long that I don't remember. Given the history and novella/short stories of the games I do remember that the first system I headed for was LAVE!

Yeah, lhs 3447 is the starting system for all new CMDRs. It doesn't truly put you into open play until your first hyperspace jump though.

If you Kickstarted to the right tier, one of the options is to choose to start with a Cobra Mk3 and bigger pile of credits (I think 10k, it's been a while) and that Cobra starts the game parked up in Jameson Memorial in Shinrarta Dezhra - and so comes with a Founders' World permit. I must one day go take a look at LHS 3447 - who knows, I may have a Sidewinder waiting for me?

Apart from the GPP start with the Sidey and 100k (I think it was) I wasn't long in Federal space... or LHS 3347. I never flew the Sidey, I bought an Adder with the free dosh and made off toward somewhere less busy .

I started in Alliance space with my second account...got the choice of starting with a 'Horizons' spec sidewinder with an SRV in Alliance space... or a normal Sidey from a random Federal system.

No idea where the 'random' Federal system would be though... I picked the Horizons equipped Sidey :)

is the starting system still the same? I've been noticing lately that there doesn't seem to be as many sideys in Eravate. Someone mentioned to me that it was because only the 1.6 dudes start there now and that the Horizons newbies start somewhere else. No idea if that's true though..

I hang out at eravate quite a bit. Based on what I've seen over the course of this year, a fair portion of the more recent sidey throng have moved up to cobras & asps now. Which makes sense.

The only boob about that system was that if you left and came back you had to travel 100,000 LS to get to a station.
I actually wonder if that was intentional, both to provide a gentle kick into exploring other systems, and to alleviate issues with seal clubbers around the birthing pool. After all there's no 'town of beginnings' safe zone in this game.

It's not LHS 3447 by default anymore.

A friend just started the other day. He started somewhere else, and on a planet base. I forget which system though.

If you start a new cmdr you get a choice of reg starting pack or horizons pack. The difference being the horizons pack has an srv already fitted & starts in that other system. If you choose the reg pack, you still start at lhs 3447.

..actually this might be where all the new sideys are if you think about it

Started today with a new account today. ( got my original account on 1st release and played a lot, then didn't play for a year or so, but I've been playing fairly solidly for the last 4-5 months and decide I wanted a 2nd account )

Starting System: Asellus Primus - Baker's Prospect

Sidewinder + SRV and 1000cr

Interestingly that station was on lock down, so no access to shipyard or commodity market!

I took off and found I'd been auto-signed up to a 'welcome mission' just fly to Dahan system and land at Dahan 3 Metalworks(orbiting station) - reward 10k cr :)
So now I have 10.9k cr ( after paying for fuel ) and only 2T cargo space and the station doesn't have any C2 cargo racks! so can't swap up out the SRV for more cargo space.

I wonder where I will go next...

Just to add to this thread. I got deaded and was given the opportunity to restart in a Sidewinder in
Banks Port at Reshas. (Kickstarter)

I have never dug anyone up once they are cold. Let's get that straight. :p

Your post begs to differ :)

For the record while we're here, there's (at least) two starting systems on Xbox version, lhs 3447 is the 'trad' one, there's another one if you start the game with horizons off the bat (but don't recall what it's called).

The Op told pointed out, Asellus Primus, Bakers Prospect. :)

Interesting that a similar conversation was happening over on the PS4 forum as we assume we will have these options also....

Asellus Primus with an SRV or LHS 3447 without.
