And here I could have sworn that the core of his speech was an anti-cooperation one. "Every nation for themselves". A lot about looking for their own interests first and foremost. Nothing about shared values or such liberal UN hippie tripe.
it is easy to mis-interpret his speech... mainstream media have been doing this for a while now, i neednt remind you of this
once again as i pointed out with the Neighbour witnessing physical abuse(analogy)... it would be insincere for the United Nations to stand idly by, and allow oppresive regimes to continue.

For if they(U.N) stand for nothing, then what value is there in the organisation of the U.N

President Trump is seemingly taking a lead role on addressing oppressive regimes that have not their citizens well being at heart!! All power to him i say!!

Dont Bother.
That guy is worse than the Guy in that Movie: Shallow Hal
No matter how much Trump tramples on the Christian Values, the Law, the Constitution, the Human Rights or anything remotely resembling rational tought....
This guy will always somehow see it in a positive light.

By now I think he sees Trump as the Messiah or something...

Kim Jong-un says that Donald Trump is a "old mentally ill person". "Trump offended me (Rocket man), me and my country, under the eyes of the whole world ". Kim Jong-un threatened "to tame by the fire the old American mentally ill person". The North Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs, on visit in New York for the UN General Assembly, specified that "these reprisals could consist of a try of hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean".

I heard on the radio last night that, apparently, following the end of the Korean War (25 Jun 1950 – 27 Jul 1953) an official cessation - and declaration of peace - never took place, meaning that technically USA and North Korea have been in a perpetual (legal) state of war, ever since.

I only just caught the piece on radio but although the current situation doesn't exactly promote drawing a line under the Korean War, sounded to me like it might be at least partial explanation of Pyongyang's beligerency towards the USA and nuclear program (self-defence). Not saying it's a nice regime but regime change is a slightly different issue unless official cessation of hostility is dependent on it I suppose (though regime change is not strictly permitted by UN convention iirc).

Maybe the USA should declare end of Korean War (ended 50 years ago) so we at least know where we are. A nuclear armed North Korea is probably inevitable anyway by now - I think.

North Korea raises the voice: "Trump declared a war in our country". The head of the North Korean diplomacy, Ri Yong Ho, said Monday September 25, that North Korea is ready to shoot down the US bombers approaching its coast

As usual Trump was a loud mouthed fool and NK taken seriously. (And here goes all the positive opinion what he got out of the hurricanes.)

On the other hand to be more diplomatic at least stops the situation deteriorating even more, but no one can seriously think NK will give up their nuclear program and rocket research, and at this point? they cannot be forced to to do, but if NK goes even more hostile, than there will be war.

bumpy bump.

And no, China does not going to think to provoke an attack out of NK is a valid reason to let the USA erase em from the maps.
They are smarter than this. After all, if you provoke the other's into attack than whose fault is that?
Who was the bad?

The treatment of Otto Warmbier by the NK regime. Those sons of b****!! :(
It's like a horror story.

'They destroyed him': Otto Warmbier's parents reveal he was deaf, blind and howling in an 'inhuman' way after release from North Korean prison..

“We walked over to the plane, the engines are still humming, they had just landed…when we got halfway up the steps we heard this howling, involuntary, inhuman sound,” Fred said. “We weren’t really certain what it was.”
When they spotted their son, they found Otto on a stretcher, jerking violently, producing the terrifying cries.
"the sound of inhuman howling was so terrifying Otto's mom ran off the plane."

“Otto had a shaved head, he had a feeding tube coming out of his nose, he was staring blankly into space, jerking violently,” Fred said. “He was blind. He was deaf. As we looked at him and tried to comfort him it looked like someone had taken a pair of pliers and rearranged his bottom teeth.”

Horrific, but it doesn't really change the situation. I mean, we already knew it's a brutal dictatorship.

This is the second reference I have seen today; of the NK regime trying to make a shocking impression. The other one was some click bait about the plan to kill the guy at the airport, a few months ago. It was meant to be a shocking and public spectacle.

Is this maybe western anti-Kim propaganda, or their/his, real intentions.

You don't have to use violence to gain control; just the fear of it; is enough.

There was also rumors of a South Korean soldier shot at the DMZ earlier today.
Haven't reached any news outlets so I'm guessing false info.
