The Type 10 Defender needs a buff

Hello Devs,
i have a great desire. Please make the T-10 viable for PVP. The Math on this ship is clear, it cannot stand a chance vs the other big ships in the Game. Maybe it could, but for this you have to face CMDR who are really thinking, a SRV bay or a fuel scoop can be part of a serious PVP build. I know many other CMDR saying, it is viable, but all of them probably didnt do the math behind it.

The Type 10 is slower, has lower max shields, turns much slower and has only the same Power Distributor size then Anaconda and Cutter. But Anaconda and Cutter are faster, turn quicker, have more schields and nearly same Hull potential then the Type 10.

I love this ship, it looks amazing for me and i really like it. But it brings me to my knees begging you to buff it at least with a class 8 Power Distributor or (kinda) much higher hull hardness or much higher Hull points to make it at least viable as a hulltank. (I know it is a hulltank but there is not enought hull to hulltank same amount of damage that the shield potential on top of the other big 3 are doing.)

Also it has class 8 Thrusters, maybe u wanna also make it more thrusty :)

If you go for more Hull, pls consider make cabine harder, it is a big spot on the front of the ship. If you go for Power distributor, please consider the stats of the federal corvette.

Maybe you want to add some more military optional slots?

About the writer: i have around 1200 hours in this game and im sad about 200 hours about the type-10. Please, make all Type 10 owner happy, give us a reason to live!

In deepest gratitude

Could please anybody from the development team reply to this, maybe? Maybe some statment or clues, why the ship is not a bunch of garbage (in numbers it brings on the table)?

Hate to tell you this... But the Anaconda has the same power distributor as the Corvette, the mighty class 8, not the middling class 7 that the Cutter, Python and Kraits have.

To be honest, I think that the simplest solution to the T10 is to follow through on the powercreep the T9 received - just give it another class 8 slot. As released, it was basically a strict upgrade over the T9 other than its credit cost, but the T9 has had its internal capacity increased roughly 50% since then. The T10 used to be a reasonable freighter that could also fight, which makes decent sense considering how it is basically the keelbacked T9, but now it can't even do that effectively.

Maybe better to go for 3 more class 5 optionial slots (militΓ€ry restricted). Dont sure if this would be enought at all.

No buff needed, it's the perfect miner.

Can you please explain me, what your statment has in common with the thread topic in case of viable PvP stats? I know you can, but i already have the anwer: IT IS NOT ABOUT MINING HERE! ALSO, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MINE PERFECTLY WITH THIS SHIP EVEN AFTER CHANGES ON TYPE 10 DEFENDER. Also, Cutter can mine nearly perfectly aswell. Embrassing, if you ask me.

And please do not tell me that Cutter also needs no buff...

I know already you maybe dont get this, but please try. Thank you kindly!

The cutter is a development of the T9 that sacrificed cargo capacity in return for superior combat ability, and you want to give it extra cargo space? Then what's the entire point of it?

funny how you left the beluga out of the comparison. Type-10 is not the worst.

Oh boi, funny how you go for PvP with 5 medium hardpoints and no single class 7 or 8 optional slot (this data is from Elite Dangerous Wiki: https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Beluga_Liner ). Need i mention more disandvantages of the Beluga for PvP purpose? You are serious of your posts? Holy bro xD Embrassing, can please someone post something ontopic? Thank you kindly.

Please do not tell me, it is possible with class 6 slots...

Ah, and one more thing, because its not the worst, it dont needs a buff? You want to tell us this?

maybe make another post begging devs to buff the beluga too.

I doubt if the T10 will ever be very viable for PvP, because of the way PvP is apparently intended to work.

It's primarily a test of skill between agile ships with fixed weapons, and the T10 is a sluggish turret-boat. It has more hardpoints than any other ship, and is the only ship with four Large hardpoints, evenly distributed: so it tends to advance slowly towards the enemy with all turrets blazing. If it was powerful enough to take out a FDL or similar while doing that, it would remove the element of skill from PvP.

At least, I suspect that's FDev's reasoning.

It seems quite good at the "blaze away at NPC's with minimal effort" niche. I use mine as a laser-miner, but I have turreted weapons on those large hardpoints. If a pirate shows up, I open fire with the turrets and SLF, and then carry on mining. Eventually the pirates blow up and my collectors pick up the bits.

Please upload a video while you go for serious PvP with turrets. Why does PvP still work with Corvette, Conda and Cutter? Are turrets the best choice for PvP in Meta? CAN turrets deal enought damage to win against a serious PvP build?

A Beluga will run rings around a Type 10. It's faster, more manouverable while still having a10k hull with resistances. 5 centrally placed medium weapons and a class 6 distro allows some destructive fixed weapon options as well.

and a Sidewinder will run Onion rings around my mom because she is a moonπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Yes please, This ^^^

Although another size 8 would make T10 better that T9 rendering it absolutely useless
So i would be quite happy with adding an extra size 7 optional internal

so please, an extra size 7 optional internal added to T10? - preferably added this year

The T10 is a kludge, was meant to be kludge, and should remain such. I see no reason to buff it. "But I really like it", is not really the best argument to put foward for buffing it.

I'm one of those who upgraded my T9 to a T10 back when they had the same cargo capacity. Then when the T9 got its extra size 8 slot, I sold the T10, bought a T9, and eventually used the extra profits from the increased cargo to buy a T10 too.

It would make sense to give an extra size 7 slot to the T10, that wouldn't eclipse the T9 now.

The T10 is almost the only ship that can mount four Large turrets, the Corvette and Cutter can't. It's unfortunate that the Anaconda can (with a large turret on a huge hardpoint, it also has 3 more large hardpoints).
