Im really not a fan of them i must admit.
They are for sure usefull additions but unfortunately also super boring and samey feeling ones.

I updated my old wishlist right after the announcement trailer about the Americas Animal Pack, and this is actually it, with the change that I replaced the American flamingo and Darwin's rhea, since I think one rhea in the game is enough. I don’t exactly remember which birds I replaced them with, but I did swap out these two species. Should I have made a new wishlist and kept the old one in its original form? I apologize if I caused any inconvenience.

I’m personally a fan of both of them, however I will admit they are also super samey to what we have in game. I’m just happy the Americas have something, even if they are clones.

The flamingo is absolutely stunning and I am surprised by how much I like it but I really would have preferred the scarlet ibis or roseate spoonbill.
The rhea is ok, was really looking forward to it when the pack was announced however it has become quite a let down as the model is quite off, still value its inclusion.
Really weird the way the resources have been distributed for both this pack and zookeepers, the bush dog and sifaka which at the end of the day were never particularly popular have had lots of effort put into them that could have been used to make popular animals or fix up some of the lower quality animals in the pack.

Howdy, I need some help. You see, there's this guy, the KnightDuck, who keeps sending pigeons to attack me. I could use the Mallard Mafia's help...

Ok, time for the list (I can't believe I missed this thread):

  1. Greater rhea - why is DQ (that's what I like about Texas) asking for essentially a clone? Simple: the rhea is a fantastic addition to a SA grassland habitat and it would have an interspecies bonus with tapirs, anteaters, and capybaras
  2. Curassow (any species) - I know that there are blue-billed and red-billed and even yellow-billed, but to me they're all the same
  3. Scarlet ibis - the crimson king of the really-cool rainforest
  4. Roseate spoonbill - the funny flamingo faker
  5. Superb lyrebird - the master of mimicry, the courageous copycat of Oceania
  6. Golden pheasant - a splash of gold would be nice
  7. Lady Amherst's pheasant - basically a white version of the golden pheasant
  8. Toco toucan - I always forget about these, but they're fantastic
  9. Laughing kookaburra - who wouldn't want this?
  10. Scarlet macaw - my favorite macaw species
  11. Budgerigar - yes, I know they are domestic, but they could have the axolotl treatment and have the wild, green type and them the colormorphs are the other color budgies
  12. Rainbow lorikeet - another splash of color, y'all
  13. Victoria crowned pigeon - a blue bird from Southeast Asia
  14. Ocellated turkey - the wild turkey's showy cousin
  15. Resplendent quetzal - this is a wishlist and a game where we get animals limited in international zoos. I want a quetzal even if it's only in Mexican zoos
Have I nit updated my list since then? I'm terrible at animal predictions...

Ok, I got the greater rhea. So, let's replace him with the grey-crowned crane...

I completelly forgotten to submit my lists, anyways here is mine:
1. Scarlet macaw
2. Toco toucan
3. Harpy eagle
4. Great rhea
5. Red legged seriema
6. Wild turkey
7. Mallard
8. Western cappercalie
9. Magpie goose
10. Grey parrot
11. A hummingbird
12. Peregrine falcon
13. North Island Brown Kiwi
14. Scarlet ibis
15. Helmeted guineafowl
16. Rufous hornero
17. Curassow
18. Golden pheasant
19. Secretary bird
20. Owl (i refuse to choose only one, so it will be just "generic owl")
21. Great hornbill
22. Bearded vulture
23. budgerigar
24. Laughing Kookaburra
25. Kea
+ the Andean condor that i requested after the Kiwi inclusion.

My new vote to replace the rhea will be for the black swan
HAPPY BIRDMERICAS DAY!!!

The rhea was going to be the main reason why i would buy the pack, but now it's the reason why im not.

I decided to vote with my wallet in this one as i refuse to expend money on a unfinished animal, specially one i strongly requested.

As for the flamingo, it's nice. Wasn't exactly my most wanted aquatic american bird (scarlet ibis, my beloved), but will fill the bill just right.

I wish i was as strong as you are 🥲 but i waited too long for the rhea and i just don't like the mod for it so I'm buying it hoping that a remaster (or Frontier themselves) update it and makes it look like a rhea.

But i also want the saki, ocelote and bush dog so, there is more than the rhea in this pack for me.

oh yeah, i will be absolutelly be buying the pack if Frontier fix the rhea. I already stated it but everything else quality is very good and i particulally been rotting for the flamingo, bush dog and Saki, i just cannot let the rhea go quietly (if that make's sense).

Yes..it hurts me see them in game because the feather textures is just so good (and when they open their wings you can even see the details of the back of the wings with the arms and all is amazing), but at the same time You have them flamingo with the exacto feather arragement than the rhea should have. So is obviously possible for the animal to both have functional wings but be hidden when they are not using them.

- spring has sprung, SO TOUCH GRASS. What is the most unique bird you've ever seen in the wild?

At the Bronx Zoo - I'm a tour guide there - I saw a great blue heron flying over the Dinosaur Safari (a trail of life-sized animatronics) and genuinely thought it was a very advanced pterosaur drone.

When I was touring as Paddington, we drove through the Mid-West and saw a GIGANTIC flock of sandhill cranes migrating, an incredible sight.

What about you???

BTW I've been playing the Americas pack recently and despite the polarization around here, I'm absolutely loving it - monkeys, birds, diving dogs, a cool cat, a Zoo Tycoon legacy pick, PIÑATAS, what's not to like? We're so lucky to see support continuing this long.

Oh tough question but i think i have to go with the hoatzins. I saw them in the peruvian Amazon jungle. The whole experience to find them was cool. Like a little expedition, traveling by boat to a kind of secluded watery area, trekking through the jungle to find their nesting spot. We spent quite a while watching them. I took some photos but I'm not in the computer right now. I'll try to upload them later.

So yeah they were the weirdest/most unique bird i've seen in the wild.

I take for granted seeing Sandhill Cranes all the time but they’re majestic birds. Besides that White Pelicans come every year to rest here for their migrations along with hundreds of cormorants, seagulls and the native ahingas it’s always a treat to see. Herons and Egrets are also always great to see. Nothing beats finding a random owl though at night just chilling there

Bearded vulture in austria
I mean this is one mythic ahh looking bird

Would love to see them!

I've seen condors several times in the wild, the most impressive encounter in Machu Pichu. It flew soooo close to us. It was so majestic. Almost a mystical experience.

I wanted to spot harpies in Peru but not such luck. Guide said the live deep in the jungle and very high in the cannopy hard to see.

I did see tons of other cool birds there though: oropendolas, peruvian pelicans, blue footed bobbies, inca terms, andean of the rock, kingifishers of all kinds, hummingbirds, mot mots, etc.

I once had an entire flock of Northern bald ibis flying over me. I was so excited, the friends I was with couldn't understand 😂
Considering it's an almost extinct in the wild species, that is starting to come back to Europe thanks to zoos, I think it's probably my most unique bird encounter 🥹
