The Update 15 Spoiler Thread (spoilers, duh)

Aight, so based on the latest Aegis Statement... it's likely we can't interact with/do tissue sampling of the Titan until Palin finishes his Xeno Scanner enhancements.

Ugh, tissue sampling. That's how its going to be eh? Just tissue sample them to death. Watch, that's going to be a thing.

So has anyone noticed how the "vents" where you get the heat materials from, suck things in when they open up (and subsequently blow them out).

I flew a little close and my ship went straight into it (and heated up super fast) before being blown back out (and everything shot at me as i was now over 100% heat).

Subsequent harvesting of the mats near the mouth showed some getting sucked in and blown out shortly after.

Based on your description, it occurred to me that if you fly straight up the trench towards it and time it just right, as soon as the vent opens up a small proton torpedo could be launched into it which would lead directly into the main reactor destroying the vessel.

Yeah so... this is all kinda leading to the idea that these things will be what we need to mess up in order to take these down.

I tried firing seismic charges/subsurface displacement charges into them/ the launch tubes, but no dice on either. I'd go try a torp but it's almost certain this will be gated with some more tech, or some sort of research into identifying weak spots.

A single army ant can do some damage. A swarm of army ants can kill a cow and take it apart within hours. Death by a thousand cuts is still death.

So, gonna put a couple U16 things in here... here's the full description of the Protective Membrane Scrap...

But, uh, this has me very intrigued...

Market data feeds say there are four new commodities, one or two of which may well not be obviously Thargoid in origin, so I'll be interested to see what happens with the others as well.
thargoidpod = Xeno Prison Pod?
thargoidtissuesampletype7 = Protective Membrane Scrap?
coralsap = ???
unknownsack = ???

My guesses are:
thargoidpod = Xeno Prison Pod
thargoidtissuesampletype7 = Scythe Tissue Sample
coralsap = Coral Sap (it's listed on Inara under Salvage)
unknownsack = Protective Membrane Scrap

Coral Sap (thanks, @gazelle !) sounds like an NSP sample, except there aren't any corals known. I wonder if this will be something new out there, or just a rare / CG good in the bubble. Or if we get, uh, Thargoid corals?

Update, from Discord: looks like they are Thargoid corals. Growing around barnacles on thin atmo worlds, guarded by Revenants.
