The urge to sleep while exploring is real.

This game is beautiful, engaging and a dream come true to play, but despite running into numerous amounts of people 90% of which tried shooting me down "Nice to meet you to guys!" But alas When exploring, while waiting for that big score or those bounties to roll in it does get boring you feeling sort of empty like all this advanced tech and its all written text? I mean there's no Galradio? It would be nice to hear a voice you know. Someone to remind you that you aren't alone in a void of 400 billion star systems filled with NPC's I'm not saying a huge scripted history lesson maybe some quick chat on latest news to remind folks on what's going on back in human space coupled with music from different time periods. like "Now heres some music from the period anyone with music taste is trying to forget the year 2014" and play some pop music (keep in mind its an example I hate pop music) maybe have some faction specific channels give each faction a taste I'd imagine the federation would have something more patriotic. The empire something regal and instrumental like opera or orchestral I'd imagine my self numerous times while flying my clipper and turning pythons and various vessels into space dust violin music coming through the console something soothing contrary to the situation as I calmly dispatch some would be pirate.

Galnet is great but in something this big hearing an actual voice that reminds you there are ACTUAL people out there would be ideal to curbing the urge to sleep and boredom.

Maybe even the man in charge could do the voice work would be interesting.

Full ack.
GALnet IMHO urgently needs an actual animated newsfeed using in-game graphics. With actors and voices. Doesn't have to be galactic but anything is better than reading some Text only.

For entertainment, you could try tuning to : Hutton Orbital Radio :D

Other than that - Exploration currently is basically depriving your brain of any stimulus, at least that's how it often felt to me.
At times it got so bad, I actually and repeatedly checked out every single nut & bolt of the Ship I flew at the time. I inspected every single scratch. Just to have anything to look at or to do.
I hope Horizons will put back some of the missing stimulus and experiences into Exploration, might even see much greater variety on the Planets when it releases.

I wouldn't go as far as to hope for actual Adventure and Surprises during Exploration, though. So far in that respect, the Game sadly didn't offer anything during Exploration (nothing I'm aware of).

Hutton Orbital Radio! Seriously, there's a few community radio stations for Elite, you should look them up and give a listen.

On the other hand, something from FD while back in the bubble would be nice, Federation, Imperial and Alliance specific 'stations' we could tune into to get 'impartial and true' news and such from, really would be a nice touch and make the game more...immersive and alive.

Yeah some kind of radio chatter would be good. I played X2 recently for some nostalgia. The X universe is very busy and alive. NPC's talk to you with a voice. I reckon stuff like that will come eventually in Elite.

Also Radio Sidewinder. I have both stations linked to my voice attack, along with a number of "Awesome Mix" tracks ;)

I haven't explored for fear of boredom. Agree that GalNet would benefit from audio and some animation. I ignore it altogether - just a lot of text. Love the game, but it is text heavy. Heck, I'd really love to hear NPC voices in chat - how cool would that be! Of course, is love to see their faces too!

Being on xbox one all those I guess are out for me? But still I agree its hard to believe all this advanced tech and there's no sort of in game radio or animation to the galnet.

Power play and everything else is great fun but travel and exploration without some sort of stimulus to keep you going is a such a bore feels like going to work at 3am without having the radio on. Lol

Not really. Those are just as accessible on your smartphone if you have one.

Sidewinder radio is honestly the most immersive thing to add onto the long trips into the black. I pull it up in the background and enjoy the nice music and great commercials. They even have a Galnet news report where they catch you up on thr latest happenings.

Ypu wpuld just outrun radio signals, your ship is fater than they are, also the fact you feel alone when you are out exploring is because you ARE alone.

Sleeping while exploring could lead to sleeping while exploding. Fear the insurance screen if you're tens of thousands of light years from home.
