The Working Man's Hanger

Maybe it is just me, but I'm obsessed with finding and building the perfect collection of ships. That said, I'm also poor and don't get too play much (though I'll often binge play if the opportunity presents).

IMHO, every Commander should have ships for a variety of jobs. Yes, the multipurpose ships are good, but not great. On a budget, my current fleet has:
-A rated Asp Explorer, kitted for trading/smuggling with ADS
-A rated DBS, tried combat in it, probably sell it for another Viper, Vulture, or Eagle; yes, I'm an Eagle fan.
-D rated FDS for mining, probably sell her too...too cumbersome.

So what does everyone else have out there?

I'll always have my DBS and I'll always have my Vulture. These are my only two keepers. Although I have no need or intention to sell my FDL right now, it's gone if I need the money.
I'll use an Asp when needed because it's the best at what it does but when I've finished with it I sell it because I hate it.

My fleet:
Imperial Cutter
Anaconda
Federal Assault Ship
Vulture
Asp Explorer
Imperial Courier
DBS
Viper mkiv
Viper mkiii
Imperial Eagle
Hauler x6

I currently operate the following:-

DBX - currently out in it for the Sag A* exploration trip
Type 6 - this is my primary miner / trader
Cobra MK III - currently stationed at Eravate for light security
Viper MK IV - for when I want to earn via bounty Hunting etc.
Hauler - this is my cheap zip around and packs somewhere between 25 - 30 LYs off the top of my head per jump
Sidewinders - beacons

Looking good! A Cobra MkIII will work its way back into my hanger; specialty miner until Cobra MkIV comes out.

Some Commanders are wealthy, lol

My garage

Just bought my python so I am getting close to the ships I want until I move over to the empire for a bit. While working for Winters I have house the following in Rhea:

Sidewinder (just because it was my first ship)
Eagle (starting try combat and this makes my mistakes cheap, plus I get a new paint job in 2.1)
Cobra Mk III - my favorite for doing whatever, particularly after grinding trade or PowerPlay for a bit
Cobra MkIV (still trying to figure this one out)
Asp Explorer - when I head out of the bubble and was my trader because the NPCs are still whack
Python - right now a trader load out as I haven't a lot of time to max out credits and this will give me plenty of space, plus if I ever get competent with combat it seems fun

Will eventually try out some empire ships and some day an Anaconda...by then though who know what else new we will have, but I have a few years yet to get there (I hope)

Ooops - Forgot my Viper - I am mainly a pacifist trader/explorer, but able to afford a well equipped viper and I can see why combat is fun. It makes me want to get a bigger monitor, a HOTAS setup, better chair...and some skills which really need some work

PC player blaspheming on Xbox thread!? J/k. What are your thoughts oh the Mk4 Cobra? A good 'working man's' ship?

I agree with you on Cobra MkIII. I think that may be the best ship of all just for raw ability and value.

Clipper - trading
FAS-PVP/bounty hunting (I have hated on this ship for months..... Somehow it's changed my mind)
Asp-E-exploring/general runabout.

Recently I've sold my Conda to find these 3. (Need to update Inara)

I would prfure to have one ship.... just undecided on which so I tend to change ships daily sometimes.

Got a

Trade Cutter

FDL

Vulture

ASP Explorer

Viper IV

Sidewinder (3 or 4 of them as points of interest)

Probably be purchasing another Imp Courier and Eagle sometime soon, have the money but every time I find a station with either one I'm always forever away from my home base and in my Cutter @.@

My current fleet (currently dry docked until further notice )
Light weight battle conda. Used for long range combat and community goals.
Purely combat fdl. Docked at home base for pirate hunting and joy riding.
Smuggling python. Long range smuggling missions only
Several fully A class dbs all around the bubble for combat patrols.
Completely stock asp undetermined.
Lightweight racing courier. For the need. .the need for speed and other top gun antics.

Anaconda- Just got it a few days ago, was able to kit it out pretty well. I use it mostly for combat but I've been thinking about trading with it for a bit. I already love the thing.
Asp Explorer- Long range smuggling missions, when I can handle the boredom and need the cash.
Viper Mk IV- Bought it out of curiosity. It's nice to hop into after lugging around in a large ship. 4 fixed multicannons and I have a fun time in RE Sites.

My Fleet as of Currently
Python : A-spec Medium Bounty Hunter/Interdiction/ Heavy Combat Platform
Imperial Clipper : High Speed Large Trader/Smuggler
ASP Explorer : Specialized Built Long Range Smuggler/Trader (Robigo Runner) Spec'd for High Speed Runner and Light Shielding
Vulture : Specialized Built Short Range Heavily Armored Fighter/Attack/Bounty Hunter Platform (AKA ED Version of A-10 "Warthog")
Diamondback Explorer : Was a Light Smuggler/Robigo Runner, But A Rebuild/ReSpec is currently in process on this ship. Undecided as of yet, possibly looking towards a Exploration build since the ASP Exp is my LR Smuggler/Robigo Runner.

In due time looking to expand my Hanger space at my home station.... just unsure as of yet on whats next.

Officially found my way back into an A rated Cobra MkIII for mining; actually does a great job for BB only metals.

Also, got back in a A/B rated Vulture and it feels great to be dominating the HiRes at Frey again. I'm thinking I should name my ships to hopefully give some permanency to them.

Current:
-Asp Explorer
-Cobra MkIII
-Vulture

Next stop, FDL or Python!

I have 3 ship.
Eagle - for fast/light attack situations. Such as low RES sites.
DBS - My daily driver. Armed to the teeth with 2 small pulse lasers and 2 medium cannons. Nothing beats this ship. My main Bounty hunting ship.
Type 6 - Cargo... Well that's kinda obvious what I use it for.

All i got is a couple ships:
Viper MK3: sold all the outfitting
ASP Explorer: ready for long distance but a B drive

My little list :)

Corvette
Anaconda
Python
Fer De Lance
Cobra III
Viper IV

Most used? Python for BB work, Exploring... in fact, anything at all.
