General / Off-Topic The World Cup Thread.

Last time Germany beat Brasil in the World Cup they were on home soil.

Now the situation is reversed.

Fancy Brasil to go through with this one... even without Tiago Silva and Neymar.

Go Brazil!

Go Neymar!

Plenty of shots of the Brazilian lovelies in the crowd please Mr cameraman. :)

That one is already taken ...

Agree with you, but Germany is very experienced ... it's a French who tells you

:D

hmm, i do trust us to play a good game before this is over, ideally on the 13. july. so germany to edge brazil, klose to score as sub and finally breaking the goal scoring record.

and then a huge finale vs van gaal. a LOT of recent bayern munich in that finale ;)

leaving for holidays next tuesday, hopefully will make the hotel bar in time to watch the game.

For Neymar it is finished. Fracture of a vertebra!

OMG, that's shocking. Does that mean that a little harder and the guy would pilot a wheelchair for the rest of his life?

And Juan Zúñiga did not even see yellow for that. It's not just bad luck that foulplay like this happpens, it's also when referees are not competent to accept the responsibility to prevent that. Shame on them. We all like to see a good fight, but that seems more like combat than sport.

I'm german and of course i like to see our team win, therefore i hope for every advantage they could get to do so. But of course i don't want to see anything like this. If they really manage to win against Brazil it will leave a bitter taste under these conditions.

Really, i'm shocked.

The referee in that match was a disgrace - and not just over that incident.

Agreed. It was a horrible "challenge" and I really do not buy what the player said afterwards that he wasn't trying to injure him. You don't knee someone in the back at speed & with full force "by accident".

Saying that though, it was just one of many disgraceful challenges which went completely unpunished by the referee... so it's no wonder the players thought it was effectively a free-for-all. :(

Heh! Brasil aren't shy of putting the boot in either, tbh - whatever it takes to win!

Agree, both were pretty hard in tackles(Ref should have been more pro active with the cards at times) feel for Neymar.

Think this will edge Germany to be favorites now, technical craft verses emotion....but you just never know! ;)

Holland to win tonight...i hope!

Come on Belgium!

I just know we can beat Argentina in this match. The only real danger is Messi and that's it. We can do this. Komaan Rode Duivels! #Tousensemble

PS: for those Americans who think supporting for the Dutch, may I remind you that most North American colonies were settled by the English, French and the Spanish, that New York was actually founded by the Walloon and that that region was called Nova Belgica? Just saying, you've got no business supporting those Dutch...

Hm not so sure about New York bit, it was first found by an English captain working for the East Dutch company who sent dutch settlers and eventually founded a settlement there which was eventually called New Amsterdam( New York) later it was surrendered to the English after several changes i believe

Edit: it seems your right to a point, several prominent Belgium family's(walloon) helped along with Dutch settlers to created New Amsterdam....a bit of both! ;)

and am supporting the Dutch as i have several in my Fantasy footy team, i need points! :D

Agreed, they can beat Argentina, but don't forget that these remaining teams are the best in the world, meaning that anything can happen, every team can win and the biggest mistake anyone can make is to underestimate an opponent.

However, Good luck.

A huge grasshopper invites itself during Brazil-Colombia. A specimen of about ten centimeters settled down on the arm of the Colombian James Rodriguez when this one pulled the penalty.
