Yes, and probably the best World Cup for a long time... Italia '90 came close though. Loads of goals, some fab surprises and loads of entertainment...

I agree, it was an excellent tournament!
Now let's see if we can keep this thread alive until the next one, might have to rename it to the 'world cup / Euros' thread tho.

By World Cup Final standards that was a decent game!
Really pleased the Germans won, best team in the tournament and mostly really entertaining to watch too. Cracking goal too, would have been a real shame if it had gone to the penalty lotto.
Does Schweinsteiger get a Combat Action medal to go with his winners medal? He got lumps knocked out of him tonight!

Seems like Germany is dominating in all sort of areas. Not the greatest footy fan but yeah good goal.

and on a side note i woke up this morning to find i won the works world cup tournament i was in, scrapped through with just 20 odd points, but a nice cash bonanza....i now have to buy everyone these!....so i wont have much change left!

Woke up about an hour ago and i feel quite the same. Looking into a mirror was a grave mistake. Take this as a warning and don't do that. Completely forgot how badly i get along with alcohol. Seems we're getting to old for that ****.
