The Zelada Home Run

A joystick has the simple advantage of automatically centering when it is released. The mouse lacks this and thus it is more about instinct and feel.

Other than that I don't see much difference between a mouse and joystick within the context of how Frontier have implemented them. I know that a lot of people who move from mouse to joystick claim there is no comparison but I am not really sure if that is simply due to the immersion factor of how a joystick relates to a flight game.

As for a 360 controller I would be skeptical as I see a limitation in the amount of buttons.

Thank you for your analysis. I think I will use the keyboard and joystick depending on what I want to do

This is great. I'd like to see some people do time trials with these, see how fast people can do it from enter to exit :)

Why do I get a distinct impression the station is going to be littered with spaceship debris shortly? Awesome flying!

Huh, I assumed that the station would have a fairly generic collision volume around it... nice flying commander... and nice modeling FD ;)

Buttons are definitely a problem, yes, but for me the biggest problem when using a 360 controller is the small travel you have with each analog stick. Its simply not enough to give you good control over your movements.

I know there are remapping tools to change the response curve, but the vanilla experience is awkward. Its the first few mm of stick travel that you'll need most when lining up shots, and I find it too sensitive to be intuitive.
