there is a way to disable the auto dock music??

Totally concur... I think the rule should be if you are smuggling, turn the damned DC off... It will only make a fast landing much harder.

Iv never had anything illegal in my ships, apart from a few weeks ago when I accepted a cargo delivery mission (which then immediately timed out), so as a failed mission I disguarded it. unknown to me it then made the cargo 'illegal' & I was wondering why I kept getting fined, when auto docking. Looked in my cargo & saw it was still in the hold & now illegal cargo, so it got ditched immediately.

Im always careful check before I pick up cargo to make sure it's legal & leave smuggling well alone.

is it possible to changed the music? I was thinking of having it changed to more or less like an old analog computer checking its disc or the way it sounds in alien isolation when you boot up a computer.

Iv been playing Elite since day 1, sorry music FDevs, but as soon as I saw the menu screen for the very first time I pressed 'options', 'audio' & muted all music.

It's not just Elite, but every game I'v played my first action is to mute music, as it quickly becomes irritating.

Iv actually never heard the docking music.

That’s actually really sad if it’s true...

ED has had more than its fair share of criticism over the years but one thing it’s unanimously praised on is its sound.

Some of the random music that cuts in during planetary exploration is especially good. Would be even better if it wasn’t drowned out by the SRV all the time...

We're reviving an old thread I see...

As a habit I always turn music off in all my games (including ED) just because I easily get sick of hearing the same music over and over and over. I suppose I could try turning it on in ED and see if it drives me nuts or not. I never use a docking computer because I enjoy manual docking but I do still remember the classical docking music from the original Elite (1984) game which I suspect will be why people made a big deal in this thread.

Hadn’t noticed this was an ancient thread, sorry...

The game does have awesome music though, try cracking some headphones out for a week! 👍

i tend to do the same. and i love this piece, and music in general. then again i prefer my own choices.

people are often unaware how intrusive music can be. it's probably the main reason i close youtube videos just seconds in.

i've listened to it gazillions of times, and i never used a docking computer. actually, it's been hard to miss it every 1st of january for decades, no matter what you do, someone always tunes in ...

it still deserves this

All classical music is boring, pretentious or both.
The docking song is particular does my head in so it went off the second I could I find the option.

I do have the DC for my Dolphin, mostly due to being on PS and some sadist mapped 'deploy landing gear' to the same button as 'boost' and some clients don't like hull damage...

I used to love the docking computer music until two of my NPC crew started waltzing on the bridge of the Krait and tripped over the bloody wires - wrecked the coffee machine and bent up the old Krait model. Switched it off after that and fired them both.
