They actually did it. (Huge if true)

PP would be cool if actually did something. When I started to play 8 months ago I thought it impacted the story of the galaxy a lot. I thought that if Felicia Winters won enough systems she could call a vote of no-confidence and the Federation would get a great election event. Or if everyone supported Aisling there could be a civil war against Arissa and the Empire could become slavery-free.

But after noticed that there were Mahon systems in Federal Space I noticed that was not the case, so, what's the point of PP then? Just win systems for the sake of winning them? Shouldn't be that the means not the end? It is a serious question, believe me.

Why anyone actually cares about powerplay is beyond me. It could be a good mechanic but in its current form I really question if the designers were on crack during its development. The only “gameplay” consists of hauling forts, that YOU pay for, from point A to point B and farming NPCs. The fact that most groups, besides Archon and Hudson, operate mostly in PG makes it even more lame.

Another thing is most powers are maxed out on the systems they can afford to expand into. Which is why on every powerplay discord I’ve been on everyone always shouts “vote consolidation!” Every week.

Yep, but powerplay still generates some drama any now and then, and ... disturbing pictures!

The game would be less rich without it.

Oh sure, the memes are worth it, but I won't consider to play it anytime soon, especially when the posts in the reddits and forums are like "Do you guys feel too like this is another full-time job without pay?" or "How do I make a remote desktop so I can keep doing this repetitive task while I am at the movies with my wife and kids?"
