They are extremely annoying - peoples who won't accept random PVP encounters.

This is not call of duty. Stop treating it like it is. Pirating and killing are serious crimes yet they are not treated like that, ie: 400cr bounty for murdering someone. Get out of here. It should be far worse than that. This game was not ment to be a pvp game. Every aspect of it can be enjoyed in solo mode or a private group of people who won't kill you for no reason. The pvp tag would be a great addition if it was implemented right.

:) Damn right he is.
Maybe some should remember, that a lot of Aplha-Bakers even gone mad as they heard that ED will not get an Offline-Mode. That should tell a lot.

My thoughts about PvP in ED are simple:
As long as PvP has no Consequences for any Attacker, PvP is not worth my time.
Lets say a Miner returns from a 3h Mining Session to a Station to sell his Stuff. What Reason should he have to Face an Attacker instead of High-Wake out ? There is actually no Reason, because he is the only one who has something to loose: The Time he spents during his Mining Session. There is no real Consequense for the Pirate. Its that simple.
Real consequences could be getting hostile to every Security-Ship except in Anarchy-Systems for 7 days and loosing the ability to use their Ship-Insurance for 7 days.
Bring in those consequences and you can count me in to hunt Player-Pirates and Griefers ...

They are extremely annoying - peoples who won't accept that direct PVP isn't everyone's cup of tea..

No it's griefing.

Not always.

Hello your dead, yes.

Your money or your life, oh you chose your life. No.

Hello, did you know you had a kill bounty on you? No

So you joined up to Power Play for a faction opposed to me. No

So you tried to run a blockade of a system for in goal gains then? No.

It's not always clear cut and obvious, and I say this as the man in the basically defenceless ship, although rigged to run for it.

No it's griefing.

Actually, no it's not.
Frontier have said before that random player killing for no reason is part of the game.
Even David Braben has been killed in open by players and he never called it griefing - he called it, part of the game.

So as long as that person gets their kill and moves on, then it was just a random murder.
But if they try to stalk a player and repeatedly kill them for no reason (no power play, no bounty etc..), then you're wondering into "griefing".

So no, pvp is not "griefing", player murder is not "griefing". Both things are part of the game.
