I think Hi Waking when the fight is lost is just smart business. A wise pilot is going to use every tool at their disposal IMO
Indeed. There is no shame in Hi-Wake, it does count as "Win" in my book.

I tried to start a thread about this a while back, it was called "Disturbance Reports". Can't seem to find it now. Too old!
It was basically a thread for victims to report incidents (without names), so dedicated PvP groups could respond.
Second that. Maybe we will meet in game sometime, KOSC are the only cmdrs that will be targeted ;P

If theres anything you want to share, then fell free. But I must retain that we are only targeting KOSC for people who are doing CGs and engineers, but its the same kind of idea
Cool, my thread was technically for any scenario. But CGs, and Engineer bases are 2 of the 3 places most likely to be attacked.
The third being the noob systems. Lol
I have nothing to report.
My Python is too fast for most.![]()
We need a discord channel if this is to happen.
I have a friend that has a Team Speak channel, only 10 people though. If people genuinely catch on then I will consider getting more channels
Agreed. We need a discord channel if this is to happen.
I actually use discord as well. If this picks up that may be the way to go. It's a very well designed app.

Agreed.
Yes. Fair points. In the meantime, this is a start and perhaps a discord channel next (that one is very useful).A forum thread is extremely inefficient way to distribute information. It relies on the OP turning that thread into a full time job, and updating the OP whenever any kind of action is taking place. Wholly unrealistic!
A better solution:
Implement a heat map filter for PVP activity on the Galaxy Map. [up]
I play how I want now. Don't hold your breath for crime and punishment overhauls in ED.No the game should stay the same as far as choice is concerned. Just fix crime and punishment and this wont be an issue for very long. Proper crime and punishment would increase policing in heavily traveled or occupied player systems. Think of the police that show up to direct traffic and make sure shenanigans dont happen during a public parade. Same difference.
That would fix all the issues and would allow people to play how they want.

Exactly. But ganking poorly armed trading vessels is not a good fight. The people doing this are not looking for the good fight, and as such, I'd imagine they would be quick to flee once challenged. Most of the pvpers I've met (some who have sent me to the rebuy screen a few times) relish a good fight. I doubt we will have to worry about them fleeing instances.
I have to say that I am surprised that a player driven task force hasn't been created specifically for this purpose. I know lots of people say that you'd just be providing the gankers and griefers with what they want, i.e. a fight, but I think that they're wrong because bullies are essentially cowards. That's why they set upon traders.
And even if they were right, gankers are still just looking for kills and a laugh. You can deny them both kills and a fight by hanging out at the same spots that they do (CG, engineers etc) in Open. When one person finds a ganker, just follow them when they interdict a trader and help the trader escape. Then high wake out of there yourself so the ganker does not get the chance of a kill. There is a reason they hate combat logging so much.
If the ganker persists, then wing up and keep killing them. If the gankers wing up, then you can wing up as well and it makes it easier to track them and then jump out as soon as the trader has escaped.
Personally I would prefer the tactic of killing just one of them in a wing by all concentrating fire on the one that you all agree beforehand is the weakest. Dying like that would then be an insult and it would be extremely frustrating if your peers kept seeing you die immediately because you were perceived by your enemies to be the least skillful.
You could even have alt accounts flying around as a harmless noobie to act as a honey trap so when they get interdicted, a nearby wing of combat ships come in to protect it.
The mechanics for effectively hunting down a specific CMDR, or group if CMDRs, are simply absent. Unless you can get one if them to accept a friend request, tracking them is impossible. Even if you manage to track them down and get into the same system, instancing can and often will keep you or others in your wing from seeing them.
I really hope the mechanics for player interaction in general, not just player hunting, will receive some serious love from FD. Player interaction helps to keep the galaxy alive and interesting.
Also, a lot of these cowards do the very thing they claim to hate; I.e.: combat log, or menu log the moment you try to get behind them in SC. So even if you do manage to find them and instance with them, there is a very good chance you'll never actually get your hands on them.
No talk of "cowards" and other name calls. Do that on some other thread. As far as I'm concerned, here they are practically our friends as it's them we're looking to play with. This is a good place to organise and meet up. Let's try it and see (without the vitriol). Reread the title of the thread![]()
