They aren't here to kill us (an overly-long analysis of Thargoid behaviour)

I just thought of something recently. There are captured humans on board of the Titans and we are talking about building missiles to damage or destroy Titans.
I wonder if the Thargoids saw this coming and thought it would be a good deterrent to seriously damage the Titans.

If they did, that just shows they don’t know us very well. Or at least the people in charge and most Pilot’s Federation “Commanders”.

I have a feeling that their plan for the abducted may not have been nefarious in nature, as upsetting as the abductions might be. But causing damage to the Titans might negatively affect the captives on them and cause more drastic action toward them to be taken by the Thargoids. Assuming they don’t just toss them back out so they don’t, you know, die. Because they are going through awfully great lengths to preserve the lives of those they capture, and if it isn’t just preservation, I don’t think their purpose might be to simply further the war.

(Whether it would be to put an end to the war is a different subject, and since we’re about to poke the Titans with a big stick because clearly there couldn’t possibly be any other motives than to slap us on the wrist at play, that might fly out of the window.)

I hope we'll be smart this time and find a way to save the abductees while defusing the situation with the Thargoids.
I do wonder if the plan might turn out to be to sacrifice the abductees in the name of freeing the occupied systems from the Thargoids.
