Thinking of getting an Anaconda

Been using my Anaconda for trading, spent an extra 150Mcr+ on a combat config, and found it a bit boring. My Python just felt more fun, and the Vulture more so.

For me the Anacondas best for mining pristine hi-res sites. Have a fleet of drones collecting your fragments while you fight off the pirates, cost about 170mcr but endless fun! espically with FAOFF between asteroids.

Heh, many recommended 4 beams 4 mcs, and yes, works very nice. Found that making huge hard point turreted, I can hit with all beams. Leaving cash per hour with PP bonus as home work ;)

I have an all around Conda for fighting and trading. With 288 tons of cargo space and 4 burst /4 mc, almost all turreted. Also with 2 point defence, 2 SCB and 2 chaf launchers. Jump range fully loaded of more than 15 ly.

There is no situation my Conda cannot deal with. If I get interdicted and eventually defeated, I can always make a jump and say goodbye.

I think the Conda is a beast and can excel in any duty, but getting her fitted with full A grade components is insanelly expensive...

Sold my Type 9 today and went for the Anaconda. Got the 15% discount and going to trade with it to get back to over 100 mil.
I was sick of being cannon fodder in the T9.
The T9 really needs much better shields as standard fit.
With the Anaconda you can shoot back.

Sold my T9 and the Python to equip a basic Anaconda trader, now have a combat-, trader-, and explorer-Anaconda. The Python is back as it is the best mission ship in game.

Can I just add a bit about scraping the mail slot?

Going out from the nearest pads was the worst for me, I kept scraping the top or bottom - got some hints from people when I posted a thread asking for tips (plus I got some rather horrible comments too).

However, I found that the sure-fire way to get out of the station clean is to not alter your pitch angle at all from leaving the pad. Just use vertical + lateral + roll thrusters and you stay parallel to the station's axis and thus are heading straight. The scraping was always from me being nose-up or nose-down, lining up was OK but the angle of attack messed things up. I never scrape the slot now (touch wood).

One really good tip I received was to use the centre-marks on the left and right secondary fire arcs on your hud to guide where dead ahead is - saves having that stupid mouse thingie.

Finally, docking the anaconda turned out to be so easy, much easier than the T9 (or even the T7 sometimes).
