This is the way FD should deal with cheats

Just kick them the desktop with the message 'turn off cheats to play'

Never ban a paying customer, they might buy dlc in the future.

Perhaps they will buy dlc, but FD shouldn't care about that. If the only consequence is not being able to use that cheat, and that you'll have to find another one, there would be more cheaters. More cheaters means non-cheating players leave an never buy dlc. And if your game gets a reputation for being overrun by cheaters it'll scare away new customers.

I think that when they find a way to detect/stop a cheat they should leave it open for a few weeks, noting accounts that use them and ban them all later.

Have you seen what hapenned to H1Z1? People are running in GOD mode all the time. There are all kinds of cheats and A LOT of people are using them. It is a disaster and far worse than Elite.

Instead of those videos, the H1Z1 team should make a better product and not create hollow impressions

If caught cheating, via in game measures or due report/investigation have a cheater put on the commander in question (like a wanted and displayed as such) galaxy wide, maybe issued via the pilot federation. Have this issued for a fixed time say, a week and repeated offense doubles the last status (so, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks etc) getting that status should void any bounties, combat bonds, explorations data etc and effectively preventing the tagged commander from docking anywhere for the duration as well as be fair game for other commanders, like any wanted ship tho.

Just my two cents

I like this idea. I also like what they did in Guild Wars 1 where a giant grim-reaper thing would appear and perma-kill the guy getting banned.

Have a Capital Ship warp in, blow up the cheater, and then casually warp out.

However, if this is not an option, then why not mark the player. ED offers skin jobs for ships, so lets have some special, well advertised, skin jobs for the offenders. Something in pink maybe and of course, extra soft. A reversed armour effect?

Arry.

Yeah because the best way to punish someone is to feminize them (yah, pink is coded as female, soft.. yeah, well, I get that as an easier way of beating them) So the worst thing for someone who is destroying the game for other people, the worst thing for someone acting like a twitwaffle is to be seen as a girl?

Serious? Because its so shameful to be seen as a woman, because why excactly?

Sry, dont wanna jump too much at you but this annoys me like hell, its like in school where the worst teasing against boys was "uh, you run like a girl, you scream like a girl, you throw like a girl.."
Geez, I dont see anything wrong with being a girl. (unless one doesnt want to be one, but thats not about worse or less but about not adequate for a certain person..)
Also I cant ever remember that "acting like a boy" was used as shaming/teasing agains girls.. (well, it that starts after puberty as a way to say "you arent attractive enough.")

So, please put cheater in cheater-hell or just ban them. The rules are there for a reason, so people should live wit the consequences.

If you want to shame them and allow open play, jsut disable all interaction with the world except jumping and scooping, so that they can neither attack gamers nor be attack (and also cant communicate) and only can fly around and look at planets- no mining, no docking, just flying around with a "cheater" on their ship.
Or give them a kinda parking-brake that doesnt let them fly away(But I´d presume that people that cheat would find a way to disable that playing-block)

A game that is a haven for cheaters and pottymouth-griefers is not really an attactive thing for me and reading the forums I guess I am not the only one.
You only have room for so much annoyance and anger before you search something that isnt full of people that get their fun from ing on your hair.

I knew this one word; (pink) was going to come back and bite my .

Don't want to escalate things here, so I will say this.
Pink? Yes if you live in the Barbie doll/Stepford wives 1950s world, pink means what you have said above. Today however, this colour, does not instantly inspire thoughts of cuteness etc. However, even though, that was not my intention, I feel the need to offer an apology!

One could say that a 'yellow stripe' would fit the bill, but who understands that meaning, here these days. Yes agreed, my choice of colour, is off of the cuff, not the best example to offer. The skin is not just to demean, but to brand, said commander, as a cheat and maybe you could offer, (if the skin option was the only choice) a skin to show all, that this player is a cheat?

And agreed, banning should be the only option, for any cheats.

Arry.
