This is the way FD should deal with cheats

We all know there are always going to be cheats in games but the best way is to discourage cheating and give a clear sign to players that cheats won't be tolerated.

FD should ban cheats (not knock them to solo where they can continue to influence the galaxy) and then make a video such as this :

The fun starts 50 seconds in :)

Cheats should be banned, sadly it'll never happen as Frontier (and other companies) are scared of people suing them.

Just kick them the desktop with the message 'turn off cheats to play'

Never ban a paying customer, they might buy dlc in the future.

Nonesense - companies ban exploiters and hackers all the time. FDev just need to be firm and take action when its required. They are clearly new to all of this but if they don't nip this in the bud it will never stop and they'll just create tons more work for themselves in the future, and meanwhile everyone else is gonna get really annoyed; and the games integrity goes down the drain.

You exploited, hacked, etc.. You're gone, account closed.. Goodbye and don't come back. ;)

I second this. It should be possible to compare cheksums of all game files with cheksums stored on the server every time the game is launched, maybe even every now and then while it is running to prevent "on-the-fly" manipulation.

I liked "I was in Jamaica". I always wanted to see Jamaica... :) And yeah, I wish FD had the balls to actually do something about hackers here.

I have no interest at all in playing this game but considering buying it just to show them some support. Companies that do this need to be rewarded.

Urgh!
Yeah but getting banned from H1Z1 is like getting expelled from Remedial School. Its probably no big loss. Lol!

Man that game sucks so hard. Still, it could be worse. Could be DayZ. Lol

I've played mmos in the past that pretty much died due to hackers. Those saying they could get sued etc. Read the t&cs all mmos tell you they allow you to access their server. In an mmo the game isnt yours they can withdraw access at their discretion. To play you agree to those t&cs.

Er.... What?! :S

Taking a clear public stand against cheaters is something that most companies don't do for fear of repercussions. And as a result the actions of a very few bad apples spoils the game for many. Well done to them for not only banning accounts but making noise about it.

Btw, I've never played H1Z1 but after seeing this video I think this is the way all companies should deal with it. Take positive aggressive actions against the cheaters and make a joke out of them.

Cheaters should be banished to a personal Solo Phantom Zone:

They can still play and cheat as much as they like but alone.

This is nonsense, plenty of companies ban payers. Also, how many cases have ever come to court as a result of somebody suing a games company for banning them for cheating.

won't change a thing, some / most hack doesn't even touch the game files.

for instance, check on some dedicated forum (they are easy to find), they explain how they change variables value within the RAM while the process is running.

a checksum of the game file doesn't prevent that since said files are 100% the same, only the memory content is altered and this cannot be checked real time.

my 2ents: the game should set the CPU / GPU vcore to 5v upon detecting hacks....oops :cool:
