Those who got their second/third/fiftieth account - what's the plan?

I'm planning for my new Alt to go for Triple Elite while retaining the Starter Zone Permit. So at the moment I'm carefully unlocking the engineers I can get in the n00b zone and building a fleet, ready for the point when I gain a rank and get locked in. Oh, and I want to unlock some of the Tech Broker modules as well before the lock-in.

For bonus points I'm only using the ships which had give-away purple skins in the recent twitch event - luckily they cover most of my regulars, though I would have swapped the 'conda for a DBX (obviously ).

So far I'm on about 10 restarts as I keep gaining ranks unexpectedly ... but I'm getting more cautions, so might make it this time

(Yes, I am 'cheating' and using a friendly FC to fund this project)

I tried to run both copies simultaneously the other day, and my PC can handle it but I think because I used port forwarding in my router/the game the second copy refused to get a connection once in the main menu. Have removed those settings since but didn't try it again... need to revisit this at some point to see if I can provide my main CMDR some company in the cockpit. Really wish FDev would allow NPC crew to fill those chairs instead.

I had a similar issue but it was just their servers being overloaded I think.

Quite a lot of times I've been getting various rainbow snakes trying to run two. Until I just ran in open, then very few issues. I have to say that trying multiplayer (even with other actual players) in private groups is poorly supported in this game. It's so frail.

I think my issue was specific to my setup, i.e. iirc the IP was set to static so both copies of the game tried to use the same IP, which obviously only works for one copy but not the other one. No doubt on whether facing the various connection errors beyond that is a common thing though.

Got two alts in a Frontier sale while my main was out in the middle of nowhere with Distant Worlds 2. I now have two "glamourous assistants". The plan was to keep one based in and around the Bubble, and the other in and around Colonia. At least they can both join me in multicrew.

As the Bubble alt now has her own Carrier, she's in charge of my reserve tritium supply. Meanwhile the Colonia alt returned to the Bubble in a hurry to take part in CG's and hasn't gone back home yet (working on a few ships to leave in the Bubble for future CG's). At this rate, she might have her own Carrier (my third) to take home to Colonia. We shall see.

...Well, I did it. Third Carrier purchased. This left me rather poor, with about 100 million on each of the three accounts, but I'm fixing that now. And with the end of cheap tritium, I guess I'll need another billion or so to fuel up the new Carrier before it leaves for Colonia (might as well take a full load).

Just curious what you have in mind for your alt CMDR... FC fuelling slave, role-playing, ironman playstyle, etc.?

As of right now, I'm on my 2nd restart. I jumped into this blindly and messed up a couple times. Not saying i know the game any better than before, but i now have a direction i want to take. After looking into the Prismatic Empire, i find that they are right up my alley as far as helping to spread the influence of the Empire. They use propaganda to spread. I can get with that because i am not good at combat in this game. So as of right now, i am an Uber driver, Amazon driver and a bike messenger in Cubeo. It suits me well for now until i get to that 100 Million dollar mark. From there, I have no clue on what I'm going to do. The Alliance is looking pretty good as a next option considering they have NO power right now. I'll give it a few cycles before i decide to move on...maybe.

I have been playing since Alpha with no Alt accounts, in fact I still do no not have an Alt yet.

I am now on my way round the galaxy in my carrier, so the idea of an Alt back in the Bubble is quite appealing.

Also, with the advent of Odyssey, I would really like to start again on the ground without even a ship and see how that goes.

So, I have a couple of questions...

• It never occurred to me to multi-crew with my Alt. What are the benefits of that, other then having company?
• Can you run two game sessions simultaneously on the same PC?

You can run Elite through steam/launcher and through epic at the same time, however if the 2 accounts are steam ones, I don't think so as steam limits to 1 account open at a time.

And you can apparently simultaneously run as many Frontier-bought accounts as your PC can handle.
