Thoughts on the latest 'Questions Answered' post

Does the guest cap also apply to PC, what affects it and why is it there? If it is on PC as well will it be removed from PC in a future update?

We have set a guest cap of 6000 guests to create the best experience in terms of performance for our players at launch. We will be continuing to analyse and evaluate player hardware feedback regarding this topic post-launch.
While I don't particularly like this cap, it is something I can deal with knowing in time it will be reexamined to see about increasing. 6000 is enough peeps for me to get a feel of all the new things coming our way starting out. :)

Are custom music/sounds/billboards in the game? Will they be added?

Planet Coaster 2 is all about creativity, and we are always considering new ways to bring your theme parks to life. We will be introducing these features in a future update.
This has been for sure one of my biggest concerns and knowing that it is coming is definitely lifting my spirits. :D I can't wait for that future update already and I don't even have the initial release yet. So, a big THANK YOU to the frontier team for easing my fear reference this feature being missing.

Will load/unload stations be added?

Coasters and rides are at the heart of Planet Coaster 2. We will be introducing load/unload stations in a future update.

Another feature I'm delighted to see addressed. This is going to make for a lot more awesome coaster designs and I can't wait. I wonder if tracked and water rides will also be included when this comes out if it is going to be unique for coasters only. Something else we'll just have to eagerly wait and see. :)

Will rides with built-in decor have 'vanilla' versions too?

Yes. Creativity is at the core of Planet Coaster 2, and the ability to attach scenery to rides is something which we’re very proud of, allowing Park Managers to create unique rides. We are always considering new ways to expand this creativity, and will continue to introduce further creative options, including additional neutral coaster cars in future updates.

Soo... YAY!!! That's all I've got to say about that. :p

Will Planet Coaster 2 be playable on Steam Deck?

Rich has the answer for you...

 Since I just got mine a few months ago, this might be problematic for me being productive at work...

Thank you frontier for taking a moment to highlight some of these wants and concerns that the community has had. It is very much appreciated by a lot of us and this has started to turn some of my negative perspective(s) into positives. I have truly loved everything that the Planet series have given us players to tinker around with and express our creativity over the countless hours invested playing these games. I do hope that other concerns mentioned by the community will also be considered as well, namely things like:
  • the security aspect
  • glass pieces
  • apparent water slide physics (or lack of)
  • TMTK (I'll miss all the wonderful player made custom ride signs, safety and utility signs, fencing, etc, that add to the look and feel of the park)

Looking forward to what all is coming in two days and over the next few years. :)

Guest cap: Depends on when they address it and how fast it's gonna be fixed. Next week or before December is fine, if it takes to next year or many years this is not fine.
Custom music and audio: also something that all depends on time frame. Is it gonna be fixed ASAP, or is it gonna take years?
Load unload stations: good but when? How about switch tracks? Why are they ignored? We only have very few coasters with special elements and they are still all closed circuit.
Decorations: Not sure about vanilla decorations or what people mean by this I always thought they were pretty clear about this.
Steam deck: who cares

- The guest cap they could easily avoid discussion, they should just add a pop-up message: "if you increase the guest limit, that might cause performance problems"... Than no one can complain about the limit or bad performance if you increase it. (This is what a lot of people did after they raised the guest limit in PC1: they complained about the performance with 20000 guest.). I think this will be quite an easy fix.

- since the Billboards and speakers are in game already, this should be quite an easy fix... So I am optimistic we will see this addressed quite quickly.

- I think the load/unload station will need a little bit... You need the gates to change at the station, need a menu option were you can set the station to load or unload only and some checks that you both. But I'd like to think it will take 2-3 months, but just speculation.

- I think they heard the most requested features, but I think transfer tracks can be hard and especially handling them. How do you control when and why a train is going to the transfer track? How do you make non coaster enthusiasts understand how it works (don't forget about 99% of players are casual und don't know how these things work). But I hope we get real switch tracks, with multiple paths for the train to take. This way we could build them by ourself. While they make things realistic and I would like to see them, i am ok if they don't come.

Guest limit should indeed be a feature from day 1 for PC players. The fact that they dont have this proves they dont care about PC players. It's a slap in the face because PC players is what made the first game succesful due to all our workshop creations. There is no way someone on console can make decent enough workshop items, they need PC players for that. Thats why they focus on cross platform. So they still need us, but they limit us.

Custom audio, images, videos and even scenery items will probably take years. Took years for the first game too. They are scared this will hurt their DLC sales.

Load unload station for me isn't the most important things, but if this means faster dispatch times it would be nice.

Transfer tracks of course always are optional. You dont need to do it if you are a casual console player that just wants a simple coaster. You dont even need to build coasters you can simply use blueprints. So you dont have to explain to anyone how it works.

I really hope so. Especially indoor water rides with 1 drop need it, to get the boats back into the loading station via a hidden lift hill.

We had custom audio and video by the end of 2016 already when PC1 was still in its Alpha phase.
