Throttle down after frame shift

Is it just me or does anyone else miss having the ship drop out of frame shift to minimum throttle, instead of remaining wide open from when you jumped. I have had more emergency stops from forgetting and nearly flying into stars lol.

My throttle setting is on 25%. So once the countdown starts it's 3 clicks and I'm good. It's a habit now.

Turn flight assist off before jumping and your throttle will always be at zero on arrival.

I miss when you could throttle down in jump. Yeah, you can throttle down now during the countdown but I refuse to believe the designers thought it was a good idea dropping folk that close to stars at full throttle.

I was being punched in the kisser by one particular white dwarf for awhile and I swear if I see it again I will melt it with water.

I've gotten into the habit of throttling down when I hear the countdown start, unless I know the destination system and I know it's ok to keep the throttle up.

I much prefer the way it is now. I almost always bank left or right and pull into a tight orbit around the star to fuel scoop and scooping at full throttle gets your tanks topped off a lot faster, so again, having the throttle already up where I want it to be saves me a step.

If I want a dead stop when I arrive, I just hold down my LB while in hyperspace and then when I jump out my throttle is zeroed.

Ha, I never even thought about trying to throttle down during the countdown, will start doing that. But I agree, I don't know why the designers would think it to be a good idea to drop from Frame Shift wide open heading straight at a star lol. I had a real OH      moment last night when I forgot, damn near blew up from overheating trying to Supercruise back away.

Not strictly true. Because you are never stationary in supercruise, if you are close to the star and at minimum speed, you can still get your full rate of scoopness (?).

So if you have a lower class scoop and are bored running circles round the sun at full throttle, just drop to minimum speed and chill, at least until your ship starts to melt that is :)

Arriving at full throttle is much better when you're travelling across multiple systems and need to scoop.

We aren't talking all that much in saving though - more slight inconveniences. However if you know the star type before jumping in then you are set.

Jump in to a Neutron Star system at full throttle ... Will be an unpleasant / mild heart stopping experience at best

Not if you're paying attention. Jump in no star = cut throttle.
