Nice I will have a go playing with that too, the little house button what do the lights mean again, how do I program the rocker switch?

It's marked with a little house because it's the "Home" button when used with a PS3. On a PS3 the stick twist and throttle rocker are always coupled to the same axis.

When connected to a PC, the "Home" button is the 4/5 axis selector. It toggles between 4 axis (red LED) and 5 axis (greenLED).

In the 4 axis (red LED) mode, the throttle rocker and stick twist axes are coupled just like they are for the PS3. In 5 axis (green LED) mode they're separated so that you can use them independently. I have the stick twist set to the yaw axis and throttle rocker set to the lateral thrusters.

I too am using this HOTAS for the first time, and have xpadder. Trouble is that xpadder does not see the analogue rocker axis. I've asked why on the xpadder forum, no answer yet. I suspect xpadder is just limited in seeing lots of axis.

Pity it can't see the rocker button. I hope it's something the developer can incorporate for you for the next release.

Have you guys checked that you have the mode switched to PC on the front of the stick base, and also the "Home" LED showing green for 5 axis mode?

Yes, set before first plug in.


The rocker works in the test section of the drivers control panel in hardware. And is there in Diaspora. I just don't think xpadder can see a 3rd axis. The rocker is an analogue axis. its been suggested to the xpadder dev.

I'm not sure if pinnacle game profiler would be any better. Do you.
I'm sure other vitural apps like Vjoy and PieFree/GlovePie can do good things, but I have no scripting skills or understanding of script/code what so ever. So a good UI is what I need to work with.


This ThrustmasterX will do me for getting to grips with a HOTAS as a beginner. I find I cannot remember too many buttons so I plan to use Roccat powergrid, and voice attack.

Do you know if xpadder can assign a shift function to a stick's button so it can double-up the functions of the other buttons.

Yes xpadder can do that and more. I'm not very good at programming it though.

Ah, that does sound like a limitation of Xpadder. I'm not using any third-party joystick/controller software so I can't comment further.

That's good to know. One of the drawbacks with this particular HOTAS is the limited number of buttons, but if xpadder can double those button functions for me that will make me happier about buying the Thrustermaster.

Thanks mate for the info, I am a P beta user so can only have access to the 1.1 combat test still cant assign that rocker do you think it is because 1.1 doesnt recognize it?

Well, I'm premium beta too and it's working fine for me. Do you have any other controllers plugged in? Alpha 1.1 only sees one device correctly.

t flight hotas cable length

Hi folks

I hope that no one will mind that im posting this question here.
I got tflight and im wondering if its possible to extend that cable between thrust and joystick. Can i just cut the cable in the middle and use some (copper etc) cables to extend it a bit? Anyone done something like this please?

ps: the reason is that im using gaming chair in front of a 42" tv and need to be able to have thrust on one side and joystick on the other. And yes im a little bit better fed so currently that cable is just toooo short...

Yeah, thought so. I've built an EDtracker too. Looking forward to the beta to use it.

I am mnore than happy with the edtracker I cant really use it in alpha 1.1 atm so I mainly use it for warthunder and works really well

If it is a standard ps2 male-male cable like the Saitek x52 for example, then you should be able to use an extender, or even purchase a longer cable altogether. It should only cost a few squid. If it is fixed though and cutting/splicing is your only option, then youtube should be your friend as if its possible somebody else WILL have done it

Edit: was not sure that the cable was fixed until checking it out for you. The length seems to be a common complaint as its barely long enough to reach across a keyboard... you may have to pioneer this one

Gaming chair - that sounds cool.

If you can't find a cable that works, I'd strongly recommend getting a lapdawg for use on your chair. I use one of these from my couch, while playing the game on a big screen TV. This thing is almost infinitely adjustable and I use the flat surface to place my X52 Pro joystick and throttle, which I've tied down with $10 tie down straps to make immovable. Works incredibly well.

It's also wide enough for a keyboard, though a separate extension is required for a mousepad.

I had that same problem, and it's why my T-flight ultimately ended up at a charity shop on the high street. I'll should have saved myself £35 and just gone for the X-55.

Oh well, live and learn.

Can't see any reason why you couldn't cut the cable and lengthen it.

You'd need to see how many cores the connecting cable has, and use suitable (probably shielded) cable and plugs/sockets with enough pins.

Six cores or less, and you could use a PS2 plug & socket with a PS2 keyboard extension cable in-between.

You will of course void any warranty!

That t-flight X profile

Somebody posted a really butt-kicking illustrated mapping for the T-flight HOTAS X earlier, but I just can't find it now.

I have a friend who is planning to join premium beta, and he uses that stick. If somebody can re-link it for me, I'll be very happy.

I too have the t-flight X.


And also in a blast from the past I've been given the model before this current T.Flight X, the THRUSTMASTER Top Gun Afterburner Force feedback (2969050).

If it works as in the force feedback works, it might be one of the very last few in Europe as I've never seen one before outside of photos on the internet. Although I am told its not a very strong force feedback effect. It does have two less throttle buttons, which for the t-flight X is pretty bad news. But with Roccat Power Grid and maybe VA, it might be ok.

I'll have to make sure to add it to the list of the controllers the dev's asked for, so it gets supported in-game.

Worth a test at least.
