Tierpark Ailurusberg

Welcome to my new zoo! At this moment I left on stanby my former zoo, Ailurus Zoo, to focus on a new central european themed zoo.

Tierpark Ailurusberg is a modest zoo located on a big forest. The initial idea is to focus on birds (hope them will be released some day), small mammals, deers, goats, antelopes and European animals. As much as possible, their exhibits will try to be integrated into the environment, in order to maintain the original forest of the zone.

I'll try to upload the zoo on my workshop on a very early phase (probably this month) and keep updating it every time a new exhibit is built.

Just after the entrance there's a small shop that sells some food and drinks. The building also have some toilets for the guests:

If you continue walking, the first animal that you'll find is the babirusa:

Next time, more ;)

Thanks for your comments! :)

The two buildings that you can see at the background of the babirusa exhibit contain some staff facilities. The smaller one contains the quarantine and vet surgery, while the other a staff room, a keeper hut and trade centre.

Here you can see a general view of both buildings (I'll upload them at my workshop):

Behind them there's a small picnic area and a small cage that is currently empty (it could be used for birds or very small animals (like squirrels):

Ops, it's starting to rain... but this will not stop me to show you the next animal, the reindeer.

Hope that the rain will stop for the next animal ;)

The firsts carnivores of the zoo are the arctic wolves. Its exhibit still needs some final touches but it is almost finished and fully functional. Next to them I plan to put the arctic foxes.
As usual, I'm trying to minimise the amount of visual barriers between visitors and animals. Only a small part of the exhibit have a glass barrier (it's just the unfinished part ;))
I also upgraded the path around all exhibits to use the new european path that came with the last DLC. It fits better ;)

Some pictures of the exhibit:

Those wolves look great with some snow!

And last but not least, I uploaded the savefile to my workshop for if someone would like to visit the zoo :) Keep in mind that it is just the beginning of the zoo and I still have to work a lot on it and create more exhibits.

The zoo continues its expansion with a new addition, a small vivarium. The building is inspired by the Kolibri-Haus of the Weltvogelpark Walsrode ;)

The interior is quite simple, but I'll probably make some improvements in the future. There's a total of 8 terrariums, 4 at each side.

At one side of the vivarium there's a temporary exhibit that for now it will be the home of the llamas. At this moment is still empty:

The llamas have arrived at the zoo:

In front of the Vivarium there's a new exhibit for meerkats, but I want to modify some things of its exhibit before showing it. On the other side of the vivarium I'm currently working on a zone for cassowaries.

I'm trying to finish the final details of the area dedicated to okapis and bongos and those will be the next exhibits to show ;)

A new zone for okapis and bongos just opened at Tierpark Ailurusberg. Okapis have two separate exhibits, but bongos just one. The building that contain the dormitories are shared for both species.

On this post I'll focus on the okapis. Here you can see the old barn that has been adapted for the dormitories. It is a building that can be accessed, so visitors can see the animals inside.

Unfortunately, the okapi hitboxes are too big so they can't get inside :( (For the bongos I managed to solve this issue ;))

Here you can see both okapi exhibits, with the dormitories at the background. On the left there's only one male, while on the right there's a breeding pair:

In order to reduce the visual barriers for the visitors, the separation between guests and animals is made using water or different terrain levels. Here you can see one of the okapis enjoying a bath ;)

And this is the other observation point:

There are many benches around the zoo, so guests can sit in front of their favourite animals :giggle:

I'm finishing the final details of the next zone of the zoo, so I could upload this update on my workshop. All the exhibits of this new expansion are completed but I need to add some decorations.

In front of the vivarium we have an animal that always attract the views of all visitors, the meerkat. One of the meerkats of the group is named Wilson, in honor to the meerkat of the same name that lived in Barcelona Zoo. He was one of the oldest meerkats in Europe (22 years old) and he died recently.

I've not been able to play for some days, but I'm back to show you the next exhibit of the zoo.
Since my last post, you'll probably notice some changes in the coloration of the images. This is because I'm using a reshade to get more natural colors ingame.

Next to the vivarium I built two exhibits for cassowaries similar to the ones of the Weltvogelpark Walsrode. There they have two different species but as here we only have one cassowary species I'm currently using one of the exhibits for ostriches.

Here you can see both exhibits:

As usual, no visual obstacles between visitors and animals ;) Just water, a low fence and vegetation.

Some pictures of the exhibit for cassowaries:

The exhibit for ostriches is basically the same in structure. I had to modify some parts of the entrance to the dormitories as they are taller ;)

Behind the vivarium there's a small building containing some staff facilities and a toilets for our visitors:

The two paths restricted to visitors lead us to the zookeeper's access to the exhibits. Here you can see the access point for the llamas:

Let's go to the newest part of the zoo.

Originally, I planned something small for those animals but it ended up in a big change for the zoo (and not just for those animals). I'm talking about flamingos. I wanted something small for them but while building the zoo I found a big empty area in the middle, so I decided to turn all that area into a big lake. The next step was to find some part of the lake to integrate the exhibit for the flamingos. Between the exhibits for cassowaries and the newly created lake I had a empty space that was my best option for this exhibit, so I started to build it there.

For now, I'll only show you some pictures of the flamingo lake. On the next post I'll show you the area around the big lake, that it will also be used in the future for other animals, creating some islands. But all about this is still unplanned and I don't have a clear idea of what I'll build ;)

I also built a nest area. In this case I used some nests I found on the workshop:
