Tierpark Ailurusberg

Now I'm going to show an exhibit that will suffer some modifications in the future. At this moment it's only the habitat for Baird tapirs but I'll include capibaras and if some day we get rheas they will also be added here. This will also mean that I'll have to modify some parts of the exhibit.

When I showed the Variwald I already showed part of this exhibit, as tapirs and lemurs share the same building for its indoor areas. This main building is the "Tapirhaus". To create this building I used as a base the tapir house from Tierpark Cottbus. In fact, many parts of the exhibit are based on it ;)

This is the main entrance. At the left you can see the entrance to the Variwald:

Between the Variwald and the Tapirhaus there are some picnic tables and snack/drink machines:

And this is an aerial view of the building. The smaller part is the one used to the lemurs, while the big one is for the tapirs. On the back part there are some staff facilities.

This is how it looks inside. I wanted to put some terrariums on each side of the visitors access door but the 4x4m terrariums are too big. Initially I wanted to create two different indoor parts for the animals and two outdoor exhibits (one for a male/female and other for a breeding pair) but I faced again my nightmare when creating shelters.... the animal hitboxes :ROFLMAO: Only one of the animal doors can be used by adult tapirs. The other one can be used by babies and hope (crossing fingers) that capibaras will not complain about a 4 meters wide door ;)

And now let's see the outdoor part. This is the path along its exhibit:

And one of the viewpoints that uses some rocks to avoid that tapirs get too close:

The other viewpoint gives the visitors the chance to see the animals taking a bath. It will be also a good viewpoint when I'll add the capibaras:

I forgot to show you the baby tapir ;)

And let's go with the last set of exhibits before I'll start building the next phase. After modifying some details of the zoo with what comes today with the game update I'll update the zoo savefile that it's on my workshop, so all of you will be able to visit the zoo.

Next to the area for gazelles and oryxes we can find the mooses. Initially this exhibit would have been also for one of those species but at that time we had no more.... Now I'll try to find where to put the scimitar-horned oryx :ROFLMAO:

Next to the big restaurant we find a small plaza with some food/drink stands, toilets, a tower and a much smaller versión of the "dodo del paraigües" fountain that I used on my previous zoo.

Here we can also find a small exhibit for beavers. There are two main viewpoints; one offering underwater vision:

I resubscribed but it looks like the same version I had before...
It's strange, as I've checked it on the workshop page and the current version is from June 22nd. Maybe it's some kind of cache problem... If you already resubscribed, try unsubscribing, then entering the game and check that there no trace of the zoo and after it, subscribe again. If it doesn't work I can try to update it again.
@aim_foliksta Took a walk around in your park and it's beautiful! My favorites are your Ibex Rock and the Variwald, I adore the beautiful enclosure you designed for the lemurs.
Thanks!!! :giggle: TheIbex Rock it's also my favourite part of the zoo. I wanted to do it since the release of the game and I had to wait a lot until having the ibexes ;)

Strange, I did that last night a few times and it didn't work, but this morning it did.

All I can say is, wow. This zoo is spectacular! I love the vibe going on with it! Can't wait to see what you put in next!

Sorry for not posting updates for this zoo for a while, but I've been quite busy and I had not much free time to work on this zoo. Anyway, I've added some new areas, so I have some new exhibits to show.

Let's start with the nocturnal house, "Nocturama". If I have had the last DLC it would have included bats, but as I created it some months ago I used other nocturnal/crepuscular animals. The design of the house is similar to other buildings of the park:

There are two outdoor exhibits for fennec foxes and aardvarks. Both have a small indoor area inside the nocturnal house, so the guest can always see them.

Inside the building we can find the pangolins. They only have an indoor exhibit, so if you want to see them you need to get inside the Nocturama:

Bats will have to wait as I don't have the last DLC. I'm focusing more on animal packs as I don't really need more pieces for my zoos to keep them growing... what I really need is more animal diversity, and specially for this zoo, herbivores (deers, goats, antelopes, etc..). Anyway, this zoo is getting big and I'm starting to suffer some performance issues, so I'm starting to think how to finish it and what animals put on the remaining areas.

I've modified some of the previous areas to put some new animals. The exhibit for flamingos was too big, so I decided to divide it and use one part for a new species. The side facing to the lake it's the home of the two species of giant tortoises:

Despite the reduction of the space for the flamingos, they still have plenty of space:

And a taste of what's coming next ;) Can you guess what species will go there? (don't look for them in the picture as the exhibits are empty)

On my last post you can see three exhibits. The one on the right side it's a mixed exhibit for water buffaloes and a group of male babirusas (the breeding group is on a dedicated exhibit that I already showed). I saw this combination at the Tierpark Berlin. For those three exhibits I also created a new set of shelters.

Here's a closer detail of one of the new shelters:

The exhibit located on the middle at this moment it's the home of the scimitar-horned oryxs and male springboks.

And the last exhibit is for now occupied by pronghorns but I'm still not sure if I'll put there something else... It will depend on the animals that we will see on future DLC's ;)

Funny, I was going to guess "water buffalo" but for some reason I thought they were already in. My next guess was going to be "Nile lechwe". I'm surprised the red deer hasn't made it in yet, though!
