Time for a New Trip into the Core!...

Kept up the Neutron Hopping today... to the point I'm almost running out of AMFU ammo.. :) Might have to go planetside to re-stock at some point.
I also narrowly escaped a Supernova... well, narrowly on an astronomical timescale.

While surveying this nice gas planet with life on it, I managed to pick up a Witch-Space transmission from Saud-Krueger. It seems they are replacing the old-style Gold and Marble interior of all Orca curise ships with a newly designed interior using modern materials like Crystal Smoke and the same alloy Faulcon DeLacey use for the hulls of Anaconda freighters. And, amazingly, they will send a service ship all the way out here to fix me up with the new, lighter interior as well.. excellent after-sales service.

So close now... there'll be ever so much partying when I get there... Mugs and something to put in them for all who join me!... as far as the mugs last...

I have now arrived at the Great Annihilator! I will spend some time in game right now within the vicinity of the Annihilator system, and I will task-switch out here to look at this thread every few minutes.. so if there's any explorers near the Annihilator online right now, post here and we'll have a meetup! :D

Amazingly, there are still plenty of untagged systems within a jump or three of the Great Annihilator. Been tagging all over the place tonight. Now going offline again. Will probably hang around the Annihilator until Saud Kruger delivers the new lightweight interior for my ship, then I'll push on to Sgr A*, announce a Mug Party there, then go for Colonia for Repairs and Glory.

Forward and onwards forever and ever we go!...
I have now reached the point towards the core where space becomes beautiful beond reason.. all these blue stars.. the grandeour of the galaxy... the.. everything. This is where I belong.
Not only is the general stellar neighbourhoods surrounding you in here extra nice, cool systems with a dozen multi-coloured gas giants are more common here... oh how I love the red and the blue gas giants...

I'm back in my element!

Still heading towards the Great Annihilator, and even though I'm basically in the middle of the Highway to Sgr A* by now, I haven't seen a tag for 1000LYs... not even water worlds and Ammonia Worlds are tagged here... (not seen an ELW today)...

Here's a nice picture for tonight.

When 2.3 drops your gonna have a nice surprise with your jump range ;)

Quite so!

A Lynx Bulk Carrier delivered the new Anacondium interior from Saud Kruger today, and my Orca can now leap over 40LYs in one jump!... (even doing just over thirty in its currently laden state)..
My Orca isn't totally range optimised, is has shields, and two guns, (one is a mining laser), and the biggest A-Grade thrusters that can be fitted to it, nothing is engineered for light weight, but the FSD is grade 5 for range.

So yeah... life in the core is amazing, as expected.. like.. I love a clusterbunch of stars.. so nice.. and gravity is my friend.. :)

Yeah.. it is all good!... I'm at the very center of the damn galaxy!.. anyone here right now in open?

Yah.. my third entry into the galactic centre has been completed!...
Go one had me flying the Cobra Mk. III "Starglider"... and I went there as a "Success or die!" kind of adventure.. and it was awesome!...

Second go was in the unshielded Diamondback Explorer "Happy Nowhere".. carrying some rare goodies to SGR A*.. hoping to make them super rare... unfortunately, noone cared upon my return.... even though I had smashed my ship up against asteroids.. :)

Now, third time, I'm flying a luxurious Orca, "Livyathan Mellvillei" laden with 96 tons of luxuries!.... Which I will sell at Jaque's unless some of you explorers want to meet me up in the dark for trade!....

- - - Updated - - -

Stupid Supermassive Black Hole just made me lose cargo!...
What is it with me that makes me fly super-careless with the Orca??!.-....

Oh how I love the Orca...

Further update:
For the last week I have been flying about in the core, tagging stuff and watching the awesome spectacles.. unfortunately, my heavy use of the Neutron Superhighway, combined with my tendency to fly recklessly with the Orca, and, finally, due to a bit of flying under the influence during easter, my ship is in bad shape, and I am now heading for Colonia for repairs and cashing in scan data. Today I have been passing through a patch of galaxy full of Black Holes, WDs and Neutron Stars.. unusually, this patch is far above the galactic plane, high above the classic Neutron Fields.

Saud kruger will be asking you to park that Orca round the back when it comes in for a service!

Yes.. it is a pity they couldn't fix the paint when they installed the new lightweight interior!.. Apparently the paint department and the interior design department at Saud Kruger don't get along... :)

Today I investigated a massive ring around a gas giant in a dark system with no shining star...

I'm still flying through a dense concentration of stellar remnants.. I keep running into WDs, NS, and BHs randomly as I follow my plotted route. This has been going on for about 3000LYs.. Must be the most expansive Neutron Field I've ever seen.. Now approaching Colonia.

I stopped to watch some interesting activity on the surface of a giant star:

I have been hanging around a place in the Galaxy I'd like to call "High above Nowhere Special" for some days, listening to the news about the travesty of Salomé... all I have to add to it is that if you're on your way to civilization carrying something valuable or controversial, you should not announce your time of approach ahead of time... :) Like, I don't announce my approach with months of scan data when I come back from my expeditions! :)

So anyhow, getting closer to Colonia now, passing through seemingly untouched parts of the Galaxy. Not even Chiggy has found the ELWs here.. :)
